Just on Fox & Friends the "newsreader" who is subbing for Steve Deucy said that the Pentagon has today released a statement denying that any military intelligence unit had identified Atta prior to 9/11.
Nothing from other sources. Nothing on Google News search.

So the pictures of Atta and the other hijackers that were shown in the media the very next day after 9/11 came from?????????????????????????????????
Drivers licenses? Passport photos? Visa Photos?
The passport agency in Saudi Arabia?
Pretty simple search. You have the passport numbers of those on board via the flight roster. You phone 'our good freinds' the Saudis and "send us the details for these passport numbers". Five minutes later by email you have everyones passport photo.
I'd say why don't we just look at the transcripts from the testimony to see who said what, but the Commission did not keep an official transcript. People took notes.
Now we know why.
Go back and look at all the info that was coming out withing hours of the attacks, not just the pics. We had a lot more than just pics of these guys.
This is not a time to be yanking our chains. This is *serious*, not some Presidential peccadillo. If this is a Clintonian CYA operation by the Pentagon, Gorelick, Clintonistas and career cronies then heads *must* roll. This is too important. We need to get to the bottom of these allegations and find something that strongly resembles the damned truth!
What kind of documentation? Without an official transcript of the testimony, it's going to be a they said-they said. I can't believe no-one ever raised a stink about a transcript not being kept.
I wonder if those making the denials are career types, who protect other buddies in the intelligence community.

The 9-11 "commission" had two purposes:
1. Protect Bill Clinton and Hillary.
2. Find a way to blame President Bush.
If this report is true it means that the fix has ben put in at the highest level of Government. It also explains why the Bush Justice Department did not insist on prison time for Sandy Berger.
Berger's sentencing was delayed. He's not out of the woods yet. I hope that's a good sign.
NEITHER side wants to deal with this "mess." Please leave it swept under the rug, where it was.
THEY will shut down the internet before they let this get any bigger legs.

So, who exactly was the "two-star general" who slapped the muzzle on Shaffer when he was trying to get the word out on what they had found? No doubt, this general is still there, and he and his cronies are going to be in full CYA mode as this develops.

Atta's name has not yet been found on any Pentagon documents. DOD still looking.
I wonder if it's official or if it's meerly "sources within the pentagon" who are saying this.
If it's sources then I guarantee that it's just spin.
If it's official then I want to know who made the call. If it was Rummy then I'm willing to go with the statement (depending on what is actually in it) as being in good faith, though I still want hearings and people under oath.
I think the 9-11 families are going to have to start raising some real heck.
