This is not the kind of thing that they tell the people.
I don't know where your uncle lives, but if he doesn't live in the immediate vicinity of Persepolis, he may not know about it.

He's in the US, but has lots of family over there.

The Iranian mullahs do not deserve their lofty perches of power, and the deliberate destruction of these priceless treasures should be enough in and of itself for the Iranian people to finally rise up and dispatch the mullahs straight to hell courtesy of the end of a rope.

Well I hope we do in the Mullahs before they can commit this unspeakable crime against Persian culture and humanity. I believe generally Iranians feel they have a superior culture to the Arabs'. If this is so, why the appeal of Islam, which replaces indigenous for Arabian historical consciousness?

Do you realize how long it takes to create the lake behind a dam? Could be a decade.
Lots of things can happen in 10 years.

Iran is a beautiful, green and lovely country!

That is so bad your Media portray my people like bunch of idiots!

You should come and visit Iran to understand what I say!

The regime is different than us, they are not our legitimate rulers!

It's true the Aswan dam lead to the saving of many important sites (at great cost and expense) but it was
a NEEDED project, and not done to destroy Egypt's heritage.

Even the Egyptian government was for saving those sites.

This, this is a travesty.

From the above link

---

Moreover, the joint activities of Iranian and American archaeologists were launched one month ago in Marvdasht, aiming at completing work done before the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

The team has so far discovered 22 fortresses and settlement areas dating to the Sassanid dynasty, early Islamic era, and third millennium BC.

As the American supervisor of the team,Tobin Hartnell, a PhD student of the University of Chicago, suggests, the settlement areas seem to have been villages, each two to six hectare vast. “The fortresses show that we have discovered an important ancient settlement there.
