Gypsies hold to a standard of outwardly adopting the religion of the land. When the tribes first separated in Bulgaria (some North, some West, and some South) they necessarily encountered a need to affiliate with new dominate religions.
Inasmuchas their travels came in the wake of the Mongol conquest, there probably were early Buddhist and Daoist Gypsies.
There are still Moslem Gypsies in FYR, Egypt, Syria, etc. There are Pentacostal Gypsies in America.
Is this a surprise to you?

There need only be one requirement: That the book sworn upon contain an unambiguous statement that swearing falsely against thy neighbor is a crime against God. Otherwise you might as well swear on a plane ticket.

Concerning the origins of slavery, it's noteworthy that in the ancient anals of the Britons, King Arthur thanked a knight for capturing and returning a slave to another man.
That's from a time BEFORE Islam.

"The ONLY reason they were Muslims was because the animals who sold them into slavery were Arab Muslims--the originators of the Middle Passage. Every one of them was blessed to be stripped of that perverted cult of death, slavery and subjugation." Can anyone think of even one culture that has had anything remotely good to say about islam since it's inception. Every where these rotters go throughout history, they are almost immediately despised by the peoples they come into contact with. Granted, Christianity has had its bad moments but for the most part has been a positive force on civilization. I guess I just don't see the point of "tolerating" this insane death cult in our society. Obviously no good can come of it.

Best look to the Ming Dynasty for advice regarding Moslems. The Ming Emperor appointed a Moslem eunuch to be the Imperial Admiral.

The early Arab armies were looked upon as liberators by all the nations newly freed from Persian oppression.
Even Byzentine armies deserted to them.
You asked.
You should read more First Millenium history.

"That's from a time BEFORE Islam." Yah but it took the muzzys to turn slavery into a major industry and form of commerce. And before you say it. I already know about the Romans. They were pikers compared to the arabs when it came to slavery.

"Even Byzentine armies deserted to them." Yes, I know that the world was filled with some really rotten people at the time. The entire area was rife with petty tyrants after the breakup of the old Roman empire. Some time people will accept the devil they don't know for the one that is all too familiar. Its only later that they find out that it wasn't such a good deal after all.
