check if the sky is green

I know that color. Been years since I've seen it, but I"d know it instantly if I saw it again.

Hrrrm, ouch.

At least they kept that in mind.
I'd hate to think of how my areas 'city planners' would handle that possibility.

No pictures of Metairie on Yahoo! News yet. Here's where you'd find them if there were.

Well.. it was devastated and no longer used as an official Air Force Base, but it was rebuilt in much smaller scope, and now is Homestead Air Reserve Base, home of the 482nd Fighter Wing. I lived 10 mins. from there. I'm sure they're tasked to patrol the FL coast and would bet have participated in Iraqi Freedom. The politicos have been trying for years to turn it into a cargo airport and sort of free trade zone .. to replace the cargo function at MIA. Don't know what the status of that proposal is since I left 2 yrs. after Andrew.

I moved out of Ohio in '75 but all these years later that shade of green still does things to your stomach. It's like being in an aquarium. The leaves used to turn over too but the trees weren't moving from a breeze. It was weird.

If these are the same dolphins (from the N.O. Zoo) Neal Boortz was speaking of this morning, the pool water had been changed and treated with chemicals/salt water before the dolphins were added.

A restaurant on US 90 in Biloxi, Mississippi August 29, 2005, which sits across the road from the Gulf of Mexico, is completely gutted by Hurricane Katrina. Biloxi was heavily damaged by the category four hurricane. The storm slammed into New Orleans on Monday with winds of 135 mph (216 kph), shutting 91 percent of the normal 1.5 million barrels per day of crude oil production in the Gulf Coast region. Re: dolphin

CNN had a segment on it. There was a safety issue at the aquarium, so they moved it to the pool and dumped in some salt, and the dolphin has been doing fine. Not sure how long it will do fine in that environment, but it obviously had to have been necessary.

There were apparently three dolphin

That's an oil rig?

An *offshore* oil rig, yes -- the kind that drills for sub-sea oil out in the Gulf of Mexico. It's a floating platform with drilling equipment, which anchors in a likely spot and then runs a pipe with a drill bit down to the sea floor and then starts drilling.

This one broke loose and got blown back to shore.
