In previous days I posted more carefully. I would not shoot looters taking food/water. But I think that's all gone now.

Justice Dept. and Homeland Security to have an announcement shortly regarding looting in NO according to FNC.

Text messaging

Randy Perry e-mails:

I just text messaged my friend who is in Ocean Springs and it worked. I live in Washington state. I have Verizon Wireless and I am not sure what he has but the first three number along with the area code of 228 are 324. Please get this out there so other people know about it. I have left a message on the message board also.

I also have been receiving text messages, but haven't been able to get any out. Good point.

Coroner's update

Harrison County coroner Gary Hargrove said the following locations have been set up for people to check on relatives:

-- In Harrison County, at the county courthouse in downtown Gulfport, where his main office is set up.
-- In Biloxi, at the Public Safety Center, Porter Avenue, there will be a table set up.
-- In Hancock County, a table will be set up at the county emergency operations center at Dunbar and US 90.

Does anyone but me wonder why Shep and the cameraman can't tell those people which way to go, maybe even lead them there?

But, from the coverage I am seeing, there isn't any place to go that will have food and water for them. The convention center seems to have dying dehydrated people.

Where is the mayor? Where is the Governor?

Perhaps, but the gas being shut off is only one of many things that appears to be going wrong.

If you have a firearm, and you use that firearm to cut in line, get an earlier ride out, and the government response is to halt evac operations, what is your next logical move?

Accelerant?

You how quickly it went up, judge for yourselves.

Did anyone actually SEE anyone inside there?

An entire city in death throes. It's like nuclear war in microcosm.

This must be something like Berlin in May 1945. Good God.

I saw the shots on CNN......looks like they're about ready to riot.

Time for gov't to decide who's going to live.....the refugees or the gangbanging looters???

Yep. Hindsight is 20-20.

If you were running across the freeway and got hit by a car, I would probably say you should not have done that. I would not call that "Hindsight".

From the national guard website:

The governor can call the National Guard into action during local or statewide emergencies, such as storms, fires, earthquakes or civil disturbances.

If you delcare a city of 1.5 million people should be completely evacuated, I would think that would qualify as an emergency. This was not just an emergency Monday, it was one Friday and Saturday.

Howlin -

This country WILL PULL THROUGH. However, I'm at a loss for words to describe what's happening.

But slow motion, day after day death throes . . . agonizingly slow, relentless . . .
