We aren't sure at this point which Friday they are talking about. Someone will clear it up...especially if it was a week ago Friday.
didn't mean to.
EXCELLENT!!!!!!
Well done, and a hearty thanks. I am going to memorize this, we are going to need it to counteract the Liberal talking points machine....
I'm sorry, heartwood, but I didn't post the info of the federal offer. Several FReepers have added it to this thread, including links to the Washington Post article in which the story broke. The WaPo writer mentioned several days when things happened, but did an extremely poor job in clarifying the dates.
Big power plays are more important to those inept, corrupt politicians than the lives of their own citizens.
At the least, the article makes clear that Blanco didn't ask for help from other states to send National Guard until Wednesday (a few days ago).
I wonder how many little children were raped because she didn't request adequate protection for those citizens in shelters?
And somewhere on FR I read an article from another state where the head of the National Guards said he let her know that they were willing to help, but he didn't take him up on the offer until days later.
My eyes are closing....later...
I could not agree with you more. The WH PR staff is one of the weakest links in this administration, and has been since Inauguration Day, Jan. 20, 2001.
And thanks back at you, nutmeg. Much appreciated.
gotcha. can't keep up with these fast threads. think I'll turn in.
Mine too. Finally. Later Peach.

I think there were several states trying to send help but not able to get the OK from the Governor. Also Canada.
The light of truth will shine on them, but fortunately for them, they can schedule wall-to-wall coverage of the aftermath of the death of a Supreme Court Chief Justice. It has already begun. The last hour had virtually no mention of New Orleans.
They sould be able to play the SC angle for a week minimum. They will have succeeded in damaging Bush, by planting a suggestion and then changing the subject. "The death of a thousand paper cuts."
"Shortly before midnight Friday, the Bush administration sent her a proposed legal memorandum asking her to request a federal takeover of the evacuation of New Orleans, a source within the state's emergency operations center said Saturday. The administration sought unified control over all local police and state National Guard units reporting to the governor. Louisiana officials rejected the request after talks throughout the night, concerned that such a move would be comparable to a federal declaration of martial law."
So Governor Blanco (D as in DumbDonkeyDem) remained the person "in charge" until when? Thursday night? Yesterday?
Well...Ok...but I still hate rats.
There's enough stuff to get them with.
And hating the 'rats goes without saying.
Who would say the opposite knowing the gravity of the situation ?
You're welcome and thank you for doing all the hard work to put this together.
Wolfstar has created an outstanding timeline for us on this thread...
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
One last thing -- how about we all e-mail the reporter of the article and ask for clarification?
We can also e-mail Brit Hume, etc., they can chase it down.
Me too. Have a good night. Maybe we'll get a clarification in the morning.
