Hmmm....not sure what I think of this. I think I'd prefer Scalia be moved up. Should be interesting.

I've not been impressed with what I've seen of Roberts so far, but we'll see I suppose...Scalia would have been a better choice...

I guess Scalia and Thomas just didn't want to go through the confirmation hearings again.

If Fox would replace that guy in the middle with Megyn Kendall, I submit that their ratings would triple.

Streamer on Foxnews.com: President Bush to Address the Nation at 8:01 a.m. EDT

No details on the topic. Earlier speculation by the FoxNews talkies was Katrina. Now, topic could be CJ replacement announcement.

I know it doesnt matter what I think, but we dont know enough about Roberts to place him in the top job for life. If he is appointed we have him for maybe 40 years. Thats too long for someone we dont know that much about.

Roberts has continually been compared to Rehnquist.

I would have preferred Scalia but not a bad idea considering the thought of a third confirmation.

More like the administration. Moving Thomas or Scalia up would have meant three confirmation hearings instead of two.

This is definitely what I'd call being in the right place at the right time...

I think CNN was hoping it would be... O'Connor.

He sounds like he's a decent, honorable, thoughtful man. FWIW, that's enough for me :)

Ouch. Bush is going to take the heat for not promoting from within.
