Katrina complaints - (VANITY)

Posted on 09/09/2005 7:16:26 AM PDT by frogjerk

Regarding BUSH's performance in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, what specifically are the genuine complaints backed up by facts?

Other than most uninformed people spouting the latest mantra of "BUSH's FAULT" or the his response was "SLOW", what specifically did BUSH do wrong to compound the situation in Katrina? Is there a list of genuine complaints that has been compiled?

Re: what specifically did BUSH do wrong to compound the situation in Katrina?

1) Bush is a proud conservative.
2) Liberals hate that.

I'm not going to give the President a blank check on this whole thing but I am trying to sift through the BS and the actual facts of the whole Katrina disaster and I keep coming up with baseless accusations, rumor, and the like. When I come across facts of the storm, preparedness and response it all goes back to the local and state officials not doing their jobs. Their actions or inactions have multiplied the misery needlessly of the people of Louisiana and New Orleans.

None that I'm aware of. Just like all of the gripes the liberals have with our President (i.e. obscured or no facts to back up their whining).

The only complaint I have is that he was slow to realize that Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin are at best, raving lunatics and at worst, deliberately creating additional misery for political gain.

He didn't "feel their pain" fast enough. Plus, he took AF1 back to DC and flew over the site. All PR gaffs. This is the difference between a President who is an executive and one who plays one on TV. Dance for us, Mr. President. The cameras are watching.

That's one.

1. BUSH was slow to respond to the incompetence of local and state officials of Louisiana.

Was there any incompetence shown by the surrounding states affected by the hurricane? Was FEMA slow to respond in these other areas?

Bush is in total control of these liberal swines. Pelosi & company visited the White Houe, here's what happen:

She related that she urged Bush at the White House on Tuesday to fire Brown.

"He said 'Why would I do that?'" Pelosi said.

"'I said because of all that went wrong, of all that didn't go right last week.' And he said 'What didn't go right?'"

"Oblivious, in denial, dangerous," she added.

Now someone is definitely oblivious, in denial and dangerous but Nancy it isn't George Bush.

I've noticed the same thing..

My one definite conclusion: Any port except New Orleans in a storm

Only complaint:

Allowing Nagin and Blanco to rant like lunatics for 4 days straight. I think he should have addressed the nation earlier, to stop the baseless accusations in their path.

Otherwise, he's benn dealing with the giant snowball started by Nagin and Blanco, cleaning up after the kids.

I don't know. He called the governor and asked her to evacuate. He declared a disaster and prepositioned people and goods. I know the Salvation Army had prepositioned with food and water.

We don't even know what was going on in Alabama and Mississippi because the MSM dwelled solely on NO.

This is part of the first complaint that I posted. BUSH needs to fire his PR people because they suck.

"He said 'Why would I [fire Brown]?'" Pelosi said.

Good question, President Bush.

Yeah, it's interesting. My husband who has worked in the corporate world for almost 30 years commented, about Pelosi's little rant that if someone came to him and said to fire so and so, he would ask them why, and he would want details, not just a vague reference to something that had gone wrong. This is called being professional, I think.

don't shoot the messenger

Can I shoot Kos?:-)

Kos has been spreading rumors

Here's just one example

6) Private relief agencies (Red Cross, Salvation Army) are prevented from working in NO, by FEMA.

Check over here

Louisiana blocked Red Cross Relief trucks were positioned to assist Superdome evacuees

note how all of these actions can be traced back to FEMA/Homeland Security, or the President himself (as CoC) in Washington.

Note how Kos says all of these actions can be traced back to FEMA/Homeland Security, or the President himself (as CoC) in Washington.

Since Kos is incorrect about the Red Cross being banned by the Feds, you might want to check out the other stories he peddles.
