Sheltonmac: But I guess the fact that we haven't had a terrorist attack on our soil in four whole years is all the proof some people need that the war in Iraq is working to thwart a global terrorist network.
My son's service has made a difference. He has been part of the solution. Your insults are part of the problem. You belong with the likes of Cindy Sheehan. You won't catch me pi$$ing all over my son's service to this great nation.
And it's not because I'm too stupid to know that it takes more than just my son to save the world, as you suggest in your reply to me. I know that it takes a hell of a lot more than just my son, and all the other sons and daughters in the military, sacrificing for your ungrateful @$$. It takes a hell of a lot more, but we couldn't do it without them.
It is not stupid to support our troops. It is not stupid to see the progress that's been made. It is not stupid to recognize the fact that Afghanistan and Iraq were both a threat to us. It is not stupid to know the truth.
No indeed it is not. However one can support our troops without agreeing with the mission. Or are you going to tell me that every 'conservative' (i.e. Republicans) fully supported Clinton's interventionism? Didn't think so. Were they unpatriotic for not supporting Clinton's nonsense? Why not? Because the wrong party started that police action?
It is not stupid to see the progress that's been made
Oh yes, democracy breaking out everywhere is it? How about that rigged democratic 'election' in Egypt just the other day? That's democracy just pouring from the borders of Iraq into the Middle East...And let's talk about progress. One of the few secular nations in the Middle East is on its way to be an Islamic Republic. All thanks to US intervention and getting rid of the 'evil' leaders. I can't tell you how much that warms my heart..
It is not stupid to recognize the fact that Afghanistan and Iraq were both a threat to us
And as yet, there hasn't been a valid argument that Iraq posed any sort of threat to our borders. What sort of threat Iraq posed to the borders of other nations (of which it really didn't) would be the business of those nations, not us.
It is not stupid to know the truth.
No, but it is to be so blindly loyal to a party even when nothing that's been said over the past three years has come to fruition and yet you still rally for them.
But I can't complain. The one thing I hope comes out of this more than anything else is a split. Either the interventionists who believe in American world leadership nonsense are ran out of the Republican party once and for all or conservatives get up and just leave the party and let it come to its own ruin instead of trying to save it.

Well I don't need to be hit over the head with an RPG to know who the enemy is, and for the record my son is one of those over there and I too thought that is was important enough to take a stand and do what I can, so when you see fit, you can join me my address is Camp Victory Baghdad Iraq.
On another point, all those who enjoy their liberty I would question why guns are being conficated in N.O. and by who's aledged authority.
An nescis, mi fili, quantilla sapientia mundus regatur?
