Anderson Cooper stupifies Eddie Compass
CNN | 9-09-2005

Posted on 09/09/2005 8:35:58 PM PDT by Armedanddangerous

Did anyone just see the exchange between Anderson Cooper and Eddie Compass? He tried to pin the chief down on the evacuation issue and the chief about blew a circuit breaker.

I will find out--it is really hard to get in touch with anyone on the phone around here--phone lines are jammed.
I just didn't want to ask Anne at the service--it wouldn't have been appropriate.

"he's also the son of a fellow Mississippian (deceased) who was a minor writer and playwright"

Wyatt Cooper was his father, and he is from Meridian.
Both of my parents went to school with him.
I went to school with Anderson's half-brother.
Good-looking guy, (better looking than Anderson, and
he was hetero, for sure) and drove a hot mustang.
But, you have to figure that he was the troubled youth
sent to Grandma's for some straightening out.

"and no, I don't know him"

*GASP*

thud

;o)

AP carried the suicide story, ending with:

According to the obituary in the Advocate of Baton Rouge, Accardo left a wife, Anne; his mother, Catherine; a brother; a sister; and eight nieces and nephews.

It seems that whoever is spreading the "murder/rape" story needs to do some fact-checking. By most accounts, Accardo was a perfectionist personality who had sunk into serious depression as the full magnitude of the disaster became clear.

BTW, I couldn't help but notice that you handily avoided the major points of my commentary. I guess that means that you were full of bull shit.

LOL

I have never asked you but do you remember the local Meridian son of a car dealership family who got in trouble 30 years ago (LSD)and ran off to the Yucatan of Mexico where I think he still lives today.

He'd be mid 50s now.

Does that ring a bell?

an old story

This is true--he had laid out his plans for down the road. He wasn't planning on being a police officer forever. He was going to stay on the force for a few more years and then venture into other things. He was an intelligent. mild mannered guy. He had gotten his real estate license and the media said they had just gotten approval to due a story about it 3 days prior to the hurricane. I heard he was trying to save animals during the middle of all the chaos and also feeling helpless when people were begging him to help them.

More and more, I believe Savage is right. When newsfolk take it in the rear, the "news" comes out twisted.

You're right. I can't argue with reasoned, intelligent commentary like that.

The clown has now ordered the seizing of private firearms by the NOPD Nazis.

The stupid SOB needs to be arrested on federal felony charges relating to violating civil Rights.

Maybe even another cop. If he was aware what they were up to that would be a normal gangland type action to warn him to keep quiet. The flood and lawlessness would cover it. However, until we know for sure we are just contributing to rumors.

Just watched the interview. Pathetic.

Did you hear the whole story on the 36 people that died in the rest home. The staff called families to come get them and then left. There was originally 53 patients so out of 53, 36 were abandoned and drowned. Most were sitting in their wheelchairs.
