Brinkley, a professor at New Orleans' own Tulane University who accompanied Penn on his voyage through the under-water city, was among the first to denounce the report. "There was never a leak," he said in the Daily News. On Larry King Live, Penn concurred: "The boat never sank."
According to Brinkley, the boat did take on water--because it was "overloaded" with storm survivors. According to Penn, his "entourage" consisted of "a couple of friends." (The actor's camp denied the existence of the "personal photographer.

The very fact that we KNOW about it now, that it made the papers, that people KNEW he was "saving people", makes his efforts less than noble.
It's so obvious he contacted the press and let them know. And the fact that he's keeping count...He can't just do a good thing. He can't keep quiet about helping because like most celebrities it's about THEM.

On Larry King Live, Penn concurred: "The boat never sank."That's because it came to rest on the top of a car.

no but Taibbi seems to be. So you go to help out and you bring a journalist and an author? I do that too when I help out anonymously.

Doug Brinkley is the same guy who wrote John F Kerry's autobiography which introduced us all to the "magic Hat.".
Maybe Sean Penn can "recreate" some of these stirring rescues and Brinkley can shoot them on home video.
Did Larry King invite Travolta and his wife on to talk about their 5 tons of food they brought down to help out?

Oops! Forgot the /sarc tag on my post. Not surprised that that someone in Sean's camp would blame the snafu on the folks they're supposed to be "rescuing."

It's Saddam's fault.

If he rescued no one, it would still be "up to 40 people". Good catch. In reality, Penn rescued up to a million people.

This guy is a lying idiot.
Oh yeah, thanks for your piddly nine hours. Don't you think there's more than 9 hours of work down there? I'm sure everyone was encouraged and graced just seeing the wonderful you.
What a dope.

He's right, it probably didn't have leak(as in something wrong with the boat), he probably just forgot to put the plug in.

Maybe Sean Penn can "recreate" some of these stirring rescues and Brinkley can shoot them on home video.Saaayyyyy..... Why didn't Mssr. Jacque Kerry bring his big, Louisiana Swift Boat in to help rescue those poor people? I bet that those seared-in-his-brain memories of cruising muddy deltas and marshland off the coast of Cambodia would all come "flooding" back! Probably couldn't find a twin-.50 to make him feel safe among the armed citizens and outlaws.

I tried unsuccessfully to post the picture from your link but it didn't make the trip. That thing wouldn't hold more that five people max.

The SS Hornblower rescued "up to 40 people" ??
Thank goodness for the press release and chat with Larry so we can all visualize Penn's next role in Team America2.

Here is the full uncropped photo from Spicoli's publicist:
In this we can see the full effectiveness of his rescue attempt...

"it was "overloaded" with storm survivors."Sean Penn's head is overloaded with the same sort of sewage he was bailing with his little plastic cup.
I'm sure he's making his communist heritage proud.

"They had to drag a freaking professor out to say that his boat didn't sink? Do lefties have to resort to professors for EVERYTHING?!? " I'm convinced that leftist activities is ALL many of the professors being paid to teach do.
To: Guyin4Os
That was a helluva shot to keep those other 38 people out of frame!
