From the political perspective of the White House, Hurricane Katrina destroyed more than an enormous swath of the Gulf Coast. The storm also appears to have damaged the carefully laid plans of Karl Rove, President Bush's political adviser, to make inroads among black voters and expand the reach of the Republican Party for decades to come.
Many African-Americans across the country said they seethed as they watched the television pictures of the largely poor and black victims of Hurricane Katrina dying for food and water in the New Orleans Superdome and the convention center. A poll released last week by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center bore out that reaction as well as a deep racial divide: Two-thirds of African-Americans said the government's response to the crisis would have been faster if most of the victims had been white, while 77 percent of whites disagreed.
The anger has invigorated the president's critics. Kanye West, the rap star, raged off-script at a televised benefit for storm victims that "George Bush doesn't care about black people." Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said in Miami last week that Americans "have to come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a significant role in who survived and who did not."
At the White House, the public response has been to denounce the critics as unseemly and unfair. "I think all of those remarks were disgusting, to be perfectly frank," Laura Bush said in an interview with the American Urban Radio Network, when asked about the comments of Mr. West and Mr. Dean. "Of course President Bush cares about everyone in our country."

The analogy of the "bad marriage" is a very apt one.
The problem is that this lousy relationship affects our entire society, just the way a bad marriage affects the rest of the family, the neighbors and even police. Remember, a domestic violence call is one of the most dangerous calls there is for a police officer.
We had an international perception of a breakdown in US society - why? Because of the behavior of a tiny but disproportionately influential group of people. Like a bad marriage, they are damaging all of the society around them.
The problem is, of course, that the only people who can stop this are the Dems and the blacks themselves. Actually, the only people who can stop it are blacks, because they are individuals and can change, while the Dem party can't change because it has been this way since its inception. Blacks have to step away from the Dem party, and they have to start taking responsibility for their lives again. That's a pretty tall order, and they need leadership to do it. And therein lies the problem...
I always cringe when I hear this. I don't really know what that means. I know there is a Chinese community in San Francisco, and I know some "poor communities" (redneck towns in the Hill Country), but I don't see a whole lot of "black community," especially in the images of looting.
Community implies neighbors and knowing them and caring for them. Community does not mean "your property is now communal because nobody is looking!"
In my case, (my statistically insignificant sample of me!) the only black people I know and hang out with are in my socio-economic level (or above me.) And they don't "cavort" with any black community that they ever speak of any more than I hang out with german-americans because they have blue eyes and bad tempers like me.
Non of this really means anything, just making an observation that I made once when I was pummeled by some NoCal libs when I said "the only black people I know in Texas are richer than me." They responded that they knew black people and that they volunteered many hours driving to Oakland to work in "the black community" and that I as an angry white man knew nothing about "the black community."
I thought that was ironic, and it still makes me think "the black community" is a ridiculous (if not belittling) concept.
Luckily for the media and the dumb dems Bush ain't running again. If he was running again, he would be doing all it takes to regain any lost standing with the public and would win reelection.
I'm not too sure what the news channel was trying to convey but I would have hoped that they would have informed her that George Bush wasn't going to be running for anything anymore.
It is precisely this "support" which has, over the years; extracted the father from the family unit, and worst of all, deprived recipients of their dignity and their faith in their own abilities.
It would be the one big opportunity for them.
The New York Times believes all black people are stupid enough to believe their Sht.

Bush's popularity rising!
My guess, however, is that this will actually drive black voters to the Republicans. The Dems see all black voters as the people in NO when that is so far from the truth. If Master P can see that West was probably just trying to hype a new record than I am sure most others do too.
Once everything shakes loose it will be obvious that Nagin and Blanco shoulder the blame. The worst problem is the medias ignorance or just plain Pravda like ways of ignoring the truth. Chris Mathews recently asked a question like "Shouldn't there be one face, like a person, who is the face of this recovery, who we see as in charge of this whole thing?" I just wish some would say "There should be Chris and her name is Governor Blanco, she just isn't anywhere to be found. The reason we always see Jeb Bush on TV whenever a disaster hits Florida isn't because he's the Presidents brother, but because he is the Governor of Florida and knows what his responsibility is to Florida, you jack ass."

Who takes the NYT bathhouse boys seriously?
I hate when people use that term also. Sadly I've often seen it used here. Comments like, "if they keep choosing leaders like Jesse and Al...", make me cringe every time I hear it. There are many Black conservatives in this country and fortunately we'll soon be seeing more run for state and national office.

The reality is, I am tired of the NOLA getting their butts kissed for lawless conduct and a crybaby attitude.
MS was hit far worse than the NOLA crowd and everyone in my area will not contribute to unappreciative government sugar tit recipients.

The NOLA Klowns have only Nagin, Blanco, Landrieu and themselves to blame for not evacuating. The buses were there and Nagin failed to utilize them to look after his constituents.
President Bush is being too gracious with those pomopous idiots who will spit in his face, if given the chance. They(to whom it fits) feel someone owes them everything in life and blames others for their misfortunes in upward social mobility.
I do not know of any one much poorer than I when growing up. Despite obstacles in my path I obtained the American Dream.
I ask why others' never try to better themselves and seek to bite the hand that feeds them?
Maybe one day they will stop licking the shoes and butts of the poverty pimps(jesse&al&calypso louie).
The opportunity to succeed in life is there for the taking. However one cannot sit on their ass, put on their shades, light up a Kool and proclaim this is the Promise Land.
Maybe Janet Jackson should have changed the title of her old song "What Have You Done For Yourself Lately!!! Instead of, "What Have You Done For Me Lately."
In closing President lost nothing and gained in unifying intelligent voters, who will not tolerate anarchy and reverse race hatred.
