"If a chick wants to really hurt him, it wouldn't be too hard! She wouldn't even have to touch him."

Since I HATE soccer with a passion, and it would be so F'ing funny to watch this dude scream, I'll pay for his lap dance.

The ripping stitches and the look on his face.....PRICELESS!!!

Did this REALLY come from Sky???? Cause the team he plays for is Hannover 96 and not Hamburg. They got it all jumbled up.

Now, I have to go back to the DVR to watch Sportschau completely since I fast forwarded through that game.

Love the old time Frankfurt uniforms though.

World Cup Soccer - 2 hours of chasing the ball around to see 1 (maybe2) goals

I know how to make soccer much more entertaining for those mentally challenged Americans that want to see a lot of points. Just make each goal count for 7 points. So a 2-0 game is now 14-0 victory.... WOW, what a difference it would make. Exciting, huh! Now maybe all of America will watch.

...the thrills of American Football.

You mean something actually happens between all those timeouts and measuring that goes on?

Yes, all the soccer fans can go back to doing what they do at soccer games.....

...went on to score...

Probably the only scoring he'll be doing for a while.

I've tried to watch American football a few time s and just can;t get to grips with it.

There's no flow, no continuity in the game, just long periods of hanging about doing nothing intersperced with brief periods of frantic activity.

I suppose it's a bit like having an affair really.

In the interest of truth in advertising, I suggest you change the subtitle to:

(Soccer - a BORING game played by real men! ;o) )

I suppose ones preference depends mostly on what you've been bought up with.

If I'd been bought up with Gridiron I'd probably favour that.

And I dare say that if you'd watched and played proper football as a child that would be your preference now.

Odd how American football has never really caught on outside of the USA though.

But not odd at all how Soccer is ignored in the USA. Yeah a handful of weenies play it up through college but no one has the patience to actually sit through a game. Heck, we even find hockey to be pretty tame.

As for popularity, the worlds most popular spectator sport is auto racing.

Oh, now that's exciting. And atheletic, too. Why it must take six ounces of effort to smash that gas pedal. And you have to sustain that for two hours always turning left (or right).

I hear that football (that's proper football, not American football) is becoming a lot more popular Stateside.

Who knows, with a little encouragement and time, perhaps you'll eventually see the light.

Then we'll start you on cricket.

That'll be a treat for you!

That is a good point when you consider how other US sports have, like baseball, basketball, volleyball, etc. I suppose it's because other countries already have the rough contact niche already filled (soccer, rugby, etc.) This would be a good topic of discussion by itself.
