Reading the gun's specs proved to be more than intimidating; it was downright scary.

OOOOH mommie mommie the big bad looking weapon is scary let me hide under your skirt until the pee stains on my pants dry up and then lets ban the weapon so I will FEEL better cause i cant ever see a scary looking weapon again. This usleless puke needs to drop out of school and get the rest of his education at a san fransisco bathhouse.Hes going to end up there someday soon anyway.Oh yeah if you want to write to him and show him the error of his ways his email is

Wow! $7000 for a rifle with a 10-round magazine. And he was able to write that much on it.

Kind of pales in comparison to the fact that for under $1000 you could buy enough fertilizer, diesel fuel, and rent a U-haul that could kill many more people than that rifle. What a dumba$$.

I have just inherited a little money looking at a new socom m1a, new 1911 (springfield armory) and a .45 Long Colt Ruger Vaquero.

Just couldn't swing the 8 grand for the M82A1, and I doubt if the Police Departments in CA will be able to buy it or get it repaired at any price, from the factory.

Too accessible, my @$$ ...

The day I can go down to the corner hardware store and buy a brand-new, recent production full auto M4 carbine, at a free-market price, with no hassle, is the day that militaryr 'guns' are just barely accessible enough.

I always laugh at how these nuts go after the .50BMG, claiming how it can down a plane and perforate a nuclear reactor's shielding. LOL. For one it would be far easier, and cheaper even, to snap up one of the myriad manpads around the world if one needs to bring down a plane. It is far easier to down a plane with a missle from a manpad that with a miracle shot from a rifle ....and anyone who can shoot down a flying jetliner with a gun has skill levels bordering on super human. Oh, and as for the breaching of nuclear reactors .....ridiculous!

And poor Barrett. They always pick on the BMG yet forget about other 50 cal rifles like the BFG, as well as a plethora of foreign models from places like South Africa (pretty good one BTW) and the like.

But hey ....maybe one can only 'shoot down jetliners' using a Barrett BMG.

He is right, the weapon is extremely dangerous to those on the receiving end of it. That is why it should be available to citizens and not just the government.

I frankly can't see much use for it for me except for fun or war but so what? It is not up to him to decide what I can have.

Didn't the Supreme Court say a while back that a sawed-off shotgun could be banned as a civilian weapon based on the 2nd Amendment because it WAS NOT a military weapon?

You can't have it both ways.

Sure enough, the M82A1 was not created for civilian gamesmen.

But then, neither was the second ammendment.
