You are comparing a restricted diet due to blood pressure; and a healthy diet.
What is cheaper than veggies? Hamburger and noodles, a can of cream of mushroom soup, some milk and you have the basic's covered. Not as easy as McDonalds, but a heck of a lot cheaper and it's healthier.
Only in America are the poor so fat that they are running epidemic levels of Diabetes.

Hamburger and noodles, a can of cream of mushroom soup,You call that eating healthy? Noodles are bad for diabetics, read the label on a can of cr. of mushroom soup.
I totally agree with the other poster who said eating healthy is expnsive. It is. My husband is diabetic and not only do you have to be EXTREMELY creative in finding foods low in carbs, but they also tend to be more expensive.

Fresh salmon fillet sells here for about $4.00 @ pound, enough for three people and certainly a lot healthier than a big mac. Water is cheaper and healthier than the soda drinks. Tap water cost nothing, zero zip nada!!!
