In the interest of consistency, am I to understand that indictments against Hillary and Al Gore will also be issued soon? (Yeah, right. Klinton operatives always skate, Repubs get hammered on any and all technicalities.)

I don't understand your position. You think Dreier is a good conservative and qualified leader?

Next in line according to Lott is Roy Bount -- if so, then why Drier?

Affirmative Action, perhaps?

I find it hard to believe Earle couldn't find MORE on DeLay. Usually, when a prosecutor has a strong case he brings multiple charges. Here Earle brings just ONE. Where's the beef?

What ever happened to the real Republican's who came to Washington to reform, to cut waste, to streamline government, send the lobbyists packing, and get rid of corruption?

Our very own Republicans are letting us down and spending like drunk sailors without a budget.

Once these pols get into Washington, they abandon the very principles that they advocated to get elected.

Bring Newt back.

Ditto to that. He NEEDS to go on offense and ask for a trial ASAP.

Everyone else needs to keep breathing. This not the time to discover a fondness for Henny Penny.

I am in the 22nd district of TX, Tom Delay's district. I can assure you unless this clears up soon he is toast. I certainly will not vote for someone under indictment.

Ronnie Earle could obtain an indictment against any conservative he chooses to indict. If you let him dictate who you can vote for, you're exactly the kind of fool he's hoping for.

This is a politically motivated indictment passed down by a Dem prosecutor and a hand picked grand jury. It will have no legal legs, but will become a cause celeb and the leading story for the MSM.

Interesting line from THE HILL

Today marks the deadline of a grand-jury investigation into whether or not House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) improperly influenced the 2002 Statehouse races in Texas by using corporate contributions to finance Republican candidates.

Is this the same prosecutor that's been after Delay for years?

No doubt. You know, I was starting to believe some of the charges against Frist (sadly), but this just makes me snap out of it and realize that it's all probably a game of gotcha in Mary Mapes/Dan Rather style. The liberals are getting too greedy.

"Except Rush who always has an optimistic outlook."

Hey, Rush! That 30 yr. old playbook the Democrats are using looks like it's working pretty well.

Generally people are not indicted at this level, unless they believe they have something concrete.

Baloney.

I understand that the district attorney who brought the indictment is a Democrat operative who has had a vendetta against Tom DeLay for a long time. I'm sure that DeLay's strong support of gun rights plays into this.

This goes to show that the Dems will do everything they can, legally or illegally, to get back in power. No, wait, that can't be right! Everyone KNOWS that the Democrats would NEVER resort to underhanded tactics! They are just TOO honorable! And besides, everything they do is FOR THE CHILDREN! Yeah, right.

Earle won't be harmed if its a dud. The libs in Travis County will punch him his ticket to re-election. Democrats and abuse of power go hand in hand. DUH.

'06 midterms will be brutal only if the economy drifts into recession, in which case the President's party will be hammered. Otherwise, we'll be OK.

And the only way THAT would happen is if we get hammered with two "hurricane of the century" events back-to-back that not only devastate the bulk of the gulf coast, but also leave our oil production and refining industry reeling.

Oh, uh, um...

Yes, I am with you on this.

It's far past time that the Republicans GREW A SET and started calling the left the left and DEFINING what a leftist is as such.

There needs to be some agressive leadership and it may be a little late, but better late than never.

GWB needs to finally realize that there is no getting along with these people. If they win again, we all lose.
