DAMN! Just heard from my nephew in Colorado Springs. He knows Hinrichs, though not well, through their mutual interest in motorcycle racing. Said Hinrichs was in fact something of a nerd in his interests, though quite athletic, and had a strong interest in guns and weapons generally. Nephew says he didn't seem particularly asocial, but did have an angry streak.

Here are two from the OU Daily's Comments section. I can't vouch for the authors being truthful, obviously.

I have had several classes with that guy and he has always been a little different. Always obsessed with guns and ammunition and things of that nature. He did a class project on an armor piercing bullet one time, thought that was kind of weird as well considering that he had all the plans all drawn out perfectly prior to the assignment even being assigned. He never seemed like he was a threat or anything like that though. I would like to thank the authorities for handling the situation so well. Also, I think the term "suicide bomber" that the media has been using is a little heavy of a term to be using for the situation at this current time in the investigation.
I know that guy...

We have photos- they're okay - from the general crime area- we also saw some rather shocking things while we were there. We were able to get by most of the uniforms...email for info.
