Ann Coulter just took apart SCOTUS nominee on the Mike Rosen show (My report)
Ann Coulter's appearance on the Mike Rosen show, 850am KOA ^ | This morning, Mon. Oct. 4th | Report from Mike Rosen show

Posted on 10/04/2005 10:39:32 AM PDT by ajolympian2004

Ann Coulter just took apart President Bush's SCOTUS nominee on the air during her appearance on the Mike Rosen show here in Denver on 850am KOA. She called for listeners to write their senators to oppose the nomination. Wish you could have heard it!

Ann said - "Totally unqualified", called Judge Roberts "a 'dream' candidate in light of this nomination", mentioned "cronyism" over and over. Much more that I'm trying to digest. I called the station to see if they saved the audio, but no luck on that. Mike Rosen was just about speechless as Ann went on and on about why this was a lousy choice.

I agree with Ann. Huge mistake and missed opportunity.

Ann's choice, Janice Rodgers-Brown. Not enough intestinal fortitude in the White House to go with that choice.

Can't wait for Ann's column on this nomination later this week.

People Like Ann make their living off the fight and controversy. They were looking forward to a good fight and lots of face time on the news channels. They've been robbed of that and so they'll get it by opposing her.

All people like me care about is getting Conservative judges on the courts as quickly as possible to put an end to the Judaical tyranny.

Ann was on WRKO yesterday for several hours with Howie Carr and just savaged Meirs calling her nothing more than GW's legal secretary. Savaged her lack of educational pedegree... the whole 9 yards.

I'm confused, didn't she also think Robert's was a bad choice.

Souter in Roberts' clothing

Some words of advice for Ann Coulter:

Big Mac, french fries, and chocolate milkshake...and super-size it!

It's awful funny that folks fall prostrate on the ground before Coulter normally, but when she doesn't toe the President's line, she's suddenly "underfed" and "crazy" and a "sunshine patriot." Just look at the comments on this thread already.

Too bad honest criticism is not welcome by some folks...

Just damn.

If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

Janice Rogers-Brown would have been a good choice, if it weren't for the fact that she would have been defeated in the Senate.

I think that Bush may have a third appointee, though, and Rogers-Brown might get the nod. More likely, though, an Hispanic.

The last nominee is going to be the most daring because Bush will know that there is no need to hold any of his cards back.

One thing is certain, though... With these charges of cronyism, it's not going to be Gonzales next time.

Ann's losing my respect every time she opens her mouth, lately.

Whatever else George Bush might be, he is definitely not a COWARD!!!!!!

I would never say he's a coward, but on any issue other than Iraq he seems to run from confrontation. I don't understand it. He did the same thing as governor. The NAACP was fussing about a confederate plaque in the State Supreme Court building (in recogntion of the fact that it was built with funds from the Confederate Widows Fund). One morning, it was gone! Bush had had it removed, unannounced, in the middle of the night. I would have respected his position to remove it had he stood up for it...but he took the easy way out.

Let em filibluster... the agreement breaks down.. the nuclear option is applied and a qualified canidate makes the bench... and the END of minority threats of filiblustering court nominations.... which should not be able to filibuster in the first place.

This is exactly another point she made with Rosen.

Mike agreed that President Bush should have nominated someone like Luttig, McConnell, Rodgers-Brown, but he will be supporting this nomination of Harriet Miers now that she is the nominee of President Bush.

I think this will come down as a battle between religious and libertarian conservatives.

Ditto. But the liberals anti's will attack soon too.

She doesn't have a clue what kind of a Supreme Court justice Miers will make

And neither does anyone else...including the President....which is the point.

As Mark Levin said on his show last night....he was involved in the vetting of Anthony Kennedy and Kennedy lied through his teeth about his judicial philosophy. Anyone can say anything. Why leave anything to chance? Why, when there were potential nominees with a strong record...should we now just hope and trust...why didn't he pick someone who had a record of originalism? Why? I just don't get it

Coulter has been awfully full of herself lately. And that is why she's sounding like a rambling nut.

I'd just as soon see someone without a law background get on the court...

I suppose you'd just as soon have your next surgery performed by someone without a medical background too. Good grief! And yes, before eveyone starts screaming that there is no constitutional or other requirement that a justice have a law degree, I already know that. Just because something is permissible doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Funny thing she said about Roberts. She shredded that pick at first too. Perhaps someone could get her to eat a decent meal once in a while?

At least now we know she hasn't gone through menopause yet.

How is either group benefitted by this nomination? This is a corporatist/establishment nomination all the way.

Rather ironic for those who chanted "Souter, Souter, Souter" to now fling out the charge of cronyism. After seeing that one of his dad's two biggest mistakes was trusting the recommendations of others for his USSC pick, it just makes sense that W would then instead nominate someone he knows extremely well.
