We are long past the days of believing that the world was created in six 24-hour days.

There seem to be plenty of people here who still believe every word is literally true. It's a bit scary...

Which part don't you believe? I guess your god isn't able to do miracles, and wondrous works. Mine can.

He set the heavens above us, and the seas around us. He made the lands, and provided the forests. He made the animals, and fishes and birds. He made man, then woman.

He set a plan of salvation, because he created a sentient being, capable of taking directions, but not to be forced as an automaton. He made us in His image.

He provided a way for our salvation, because he has a plan for us. Believe it, or not... Rome wasn't built in a day... and God has given us some clues. Time can be stopped by my God. My God can cause a flood to cover the earth...

My God died on a cross, to save you from the penalties of your sins. Or... don't you believe He is able? If there really is a God, don't you think He can do things to confound the sensiblities of man. Laws derived from man's finite science and physics don't apply to the Law Maker. He made the whole ball of wax! ...or not...

The sad thing is that they just make themselves look foolish and they make Christianity look foolish as its representatives. The media plays on these stereotypes for all it's worth.

Acts 4: 19b asks whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you [evolutionists] more than to God, you judge.

I myself will continue to believe that God's Word, the Bible is true.

As it says in First Corinthians 1: 18 - 25

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Not as many as you would have us believe. Catholics comprise a huge number of people who profess a religion and none of us believes that every word is literally true. Not in my lifetime.
The irony is that in order to feel liberated from the shackles of restraint implied by religion, the perverts need to identify and ridicule the minuscule number of fundamentalists that exist, and use them as a brush with which to paint and ridicule all Christians.
