The new figure is based on the "most elaborate and precise data ever obtained by Chinese or foreign scientists," said Chen.

I thought the most elaborate and precise data ever obtained by Chinese or foreign scientists was the warhead technology sold by the Clintons.

He wouldn't have to take the blame if he'd only signed the Kyoto Accord!

In related news, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-Soc, NY) has denounced as a "vicious right-wing smear" the report that she was named in honor of Sir Edmund Hillary.

Maybe geologically Everest is starting to sink, from deep underneath the surface. It took millions of years to raise it up. Maybe it will be millions of years sinking down to sea level again.

Their measurements were taken before the earthquake. They might need to run up there and do a remeasure.

Bradford Washburn's 1999 measurement was accepted by U.S. and Chinese scientists and cartographers and National Geographic before becoming legitimate.

This new one appears not to have been accepted by anyone but the Chinese and the MSM at this juncture.

So the verdict is not in.
