He cannot be serious. Sure is. Card's job is for the WH to run smoothly and he apparently feels that moving Miers is necessary and this is the only way she can be moved.

Read #86!!! Rob, I can't believe Frum is so clueless that he has either forgotten he wrote that or that thinks there is no record of his writing!!!
Unbelievable!!!
ACR...see if you can get that to radioproducer and Tony Snow for tomorrow's show. Tony is about the only radio host who hasn't gone nuts, and he might read it on air.

I love it when so called conservatives all of a sudden discover that the only sources they can get to talk are all anonymous. And that doesn't raise alarm bells with ANYONE?? Considering the importance Bush places on secrecy and loyalty and obedience? He'd figuratively kill anyone who went against him by blabbing publicly.

Patronage is the way the world works. The irony is that Miers seems to have risen to the top by not trading in personality, like someone like Elizabeth Dole.

Apparently, when Frum wrote this little prediction back in the summer, he wasn't particularly outraged at the idea. What changed his mind? She is the same person she was this summer, and at that time he wasn't griping about her reading list or her lack of writing.
This really is beginning to smell.

Andy Card wants her fired, so he pushes her to become Supreme Court Justice. The logic being she is too incomptent to be White House counsel but compentent enough to be appointed for life to the Supreme Court. a little "tinfoil" hat logic Andy Card has a job to do and she makes his job difficult because of her inabilities and moving her to SCOTUS makes her someone else's problem. He doesn't care what kind of a screw up she is on the Court. Not his problem.

Nor was he suggesting in July that Andy Card wanted to get rid of her. This stinks!

I read a few of Grisham's novels. If you read them, you'll discover that he's a BIG LIBERAL, which is why I stopped reading them. He also supports democrat candidates like gore and kerry. Miers is a moderate like Laura.

I can't believe it was still there, I thought I would have to look harder. I was looking through his archives to locate his thoughts on Roberts and there it was.
Remember, you saw it here first... (what a joke)
Can I get a ticket on the cruise with you now?

You know, I think you should just give it up. Bush may not be perfect, but I don't think he's dumb enough to use a Supreme Court position in that way.
But golly, this would give you guys a two-fer! Not only do you get to dump on Miers, but now Andy Card gets to be trashed as well!
Bah. It's a silly theory, and unworthy of consideration.

You get your pick of staterooms, and a seat at the Captain's Table!! Great work!
By the way, I think you should save that to your hard drive. It may disappear in a few hours!! LOL!
Seriously, do you think it needs its own thread?

Bush may not be perfect, but I don't think he's dumb enough to use a Supreme Court position in that way. Dumb? Who said dumb? Bush wants to protect people like Miers and this is a way to protect her and make Card happy, too. Win. Win. It's smart, if anything.

"Seriously, do you think it needs its own thread?" I do. I am sick and tried of the duplicitness of so-called right wing commentators not being highlighted for all to see. This is exactly the kind of stuff that Kristol pulls all the time.

even I calmed down after a couple of days. But this thing is just feeding on itself.
LOL! I know what you mean. I'm expecting Harriet's childhood schoolmates to show up on Geraldo any minute ;o)
