80% of Potential SCOTUS Nominees on W's List Decline His Offer
Fox News | 10-11-05 | freedom4me

During the 11:00 p.m. (CST) newsbreak, Donna Fuducia reported that Karl Rove told James Dobson that 80% of the potential SCOTUS nominees on the President's list declined his offer because of they didn't want to undergo the grueling confirmation process. Perhaps this sheds new light on the reason why W chose Miers.

I don't think this is true. As my husband says, if you've got a chance at the top job, you should take a swing at it.

It was told to Doctor Dobson two days before the nominee was annouced.

Would YOU go through this? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Pukin Dog: Great work in your last opus. Many knee jerk freepers owe you an apology for making fun of what you said.

Owen publicly came out and said to withdraw her name from the list

I knew about Priscilla Owen, and suspected as much regarding "some" others, like the recently seated Janice Rogers Brown on the DC circuit.

I recall reading where her name was off the table,,, as per the cabal and Janice herself. She had already been thru hell and creation.

4 out of 5 or 8 out of 10

So, will we see "Bush's fault". Someone will have the list. Curious.

80% would indicate to me that Myers was his 5th choice.

Dobson believed it lol.

The other nominees were Daffy Duck, Loosey Goosey, and Jed Clampette.

Anybody that belongs to Dobson's group should reconsider membership...notice that the list of people who were told this was short and stupid. Brooklyn Bridge for sale.

If they were 10 nominees this means only two were left to choose from. I wonder who was the other candidate beside Miers.

We also know that Bush only considered women for the slot. If he had five women in mind, four declined. That's believeable.

He should have broadened his criteria to include men instead of playing affirmative action quota games. He would have found qualified nominees willing to face the jackals on the Senate Judiciary Commitee.

It's not. If you read the transcript of Dobson, he was talking about when they narrowed it down to women only.
