That the Sox had 4 different pitchers pitch a complete game in one series?
That their combined ERA was 1.62?
That would be asterisk that handed those pitches those games.
Had the calls been rendered correctly, the outcome would have been very different. The fact tht the manager kept the pitchers in suggest he might have known the fix was in.
It is very unusual to have pithers playing full games at this juncture. But if you knew they couldn;t lose, it makes more sense.
Maybe yes, maybe no -- but like I said, take away those not just BAD but HISTORICALLY UNPRECENTEDENTLY HORRENDOUS calls
and ?quien sabe?
Take away from it what you will. If it helps you to sleep to think that the Sox didn't win as a result of bad officiating, fine.
But anyone with eyes and a brain will always know otherwise.
