Does not pass my smell test, but damned scary none the less.

Pravda is something less than a trustworthy source.

agreed. Scary but then again Russia does not have a history of responsibile journalism to fall back on. The again neither do we in this country.

Is it wrong for me to sort of hope that a nuke goes off over there? Seriously, I really don't mean to be a jerk, but think about it. Putin is assisting Iran with their nuclear ambitions right now. Now a nuke goes off on his watch.
1) The entire world sees what can happen if these Islamic fruits get their hands on nukes.
2) Can he find ANY excuse not to join the war on terror?

When the US was bombing in the Balkans, I was told the Chechens had 2 nuclear devices and the US involvement there was predicated on our belief that another one was 'at large' in the Balkans, too. I didn't know what to think but it sure put another spin on the US presence in E. Europe at that time. I am not sure I ever disbelieved the story.

Pravda can't be taken seriously, but I heard that KGB in early 90's "lost" a few mini nukes, however I doubt that Chechens have any of them.

"highly unfriendly relations between Chechnya and Russia"
The Chechen people may wind up with nukes after all if the fighting continues...but these would be delivered by the Strategic Rocket Forces methinks.
