A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) - 10.25.05

Today President Bush addressed the Joint Armed Forces Officers' Wives' Luncheon at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington D.C., voicing his administration's support of the troops, and his commitment to the War on Terror and specifically the mission in Iraq. He later met with the President of the Iraqi Regional Government of Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani, in the Oval Office of the White House. I highly recommend reading President Barzani's comments about our courageous President.

You can also read the entire powerful speech that the President made at the Joint Armed Forces Officers' Wives' Luncheon HERE .

The President will speak this evening at the 30th Anniversary of the RNC Eagles.

Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...and I'm glad to be back....and yes, Mike is spoiling me....he's such a good guy...he actually slept on the floor next to my bed in our spare bedroom....(I couldn't get in and out of our king bed)...what can I say!

Sounds great!

I missed out on your strategy session the other night. Did you all come up with a plan?

I've been trying to fight the good fight best I can.

My take is that even if you disagree with the President on something...you say so without trying to take him down with it. I have to admit, I'm not crazy about the Miers nomination, but I also realize that may have more to do with my own expectations than reality...and that the President could nominate his dog catcher if he felt like it.

The bottom line for me is that I would never "burn down my own neighborhood" just because I disagreed with a politician. I can't imagine NOT occasionally disagreeing with a politician, even one I respect.

Sometimes, you have to wonder about people. Sitting alone in a dark room with their "standards," wondering exactly why others don't seem to appreciate them for the heroes they are. In any case, I am looking forward to seeing who disappears after the hearings. That will be instructive in and of itself.

LOL! We had a few extra tiffs toward the end, but I told her I didn't want our last few weeks to be so tense, and she settled a bit.

My problem is that she's 2,000 miles away. Our other kids were 800 (well, except for Eric's little adventure in Iraq), but that's at least driveable in a day. The only way to see her is to fly 2/3 of the way across the country, and I knew I'd be going from August to Thanksgiving without seeing her lovely, smiling face.

Then I decided that I HAD to go to parents' weekend, and that helped a lot.

It's been a snowball rolling down the hill of deceit, polly.

Now the media don't even have the pretense of honesty. They lie with impunity, and nobody stops them.

But the good thing is, that most people don't believe them any more either. They are imploding, and are too stupid to notice, or care.

Ohhhhhh........I LOVE October! Red, yellow, orange leaves, crisp air and the smell of open fires.......

Our leaves are peaking right now, and it's just stunning around here. (Now if we could get this rain to stop, I could go out and enjoy them!)

Ugh...I hate fall and winter. I'm not a cold weather person and SC weather finally realized it was near the end of October and got really really cold. :(

Haha, that's why they have parent's weekend. Where did she go? Mine isn't so far away. She's only about 65 miles down the road. She's been home three times since mid-August, mostly to use the washer and dryer and sponge groceries. Looks like she'll do a study abroad next summer in Spain, so that will test me greatly. Off to bed with a book, but I'll check back in the morning. Take care!

Really?? Some guy linked to a website with the same name and it was an old guy...... some hyper anti-feminist.

This 'she' could be using his name, though, I suppose.....

It's cold here too, though we haven't had a frost yet, which is unusual.

I love the changing seasons, but November is the bottom of the barrel for me. Thirties and rain is the pits, IMO. I much prefer snow.
