Thanks CH, I've been listing to the local news, Fox-Tampa,
and have been through 2 news cycles, and they haven't said anything.
Had it been the Yankees, Red Sox, or even Houston, it would be wall to wall.

Damn this Second City crap....

The White Sox victory was on the news here in Britain.

Yes, he is. He's been with Lyle Lovett for a long time, for instance I saw John Hagen with Lyle on the Johnny Carson show. Check the CDs, I assume his name is on them.

Too bad we could not win one game from those guys, Houston looked really tight. Even the fans seemed tight, they were not as loud in game 3, got a bit louder last night, but they/we also screwed up when we let Uribe catch that foul ball in the 9th. Oh well, hopefully we learned a few things.

Hook-em, Ted

The White Sox are a better team and deserved to win. Congrats to them.

But the Astros played like crap after waiting 44 years to get in. They should have won at least two at home to make it a little more interesting. I'll never understand why Garner did not utilize the suicide squeeze in the 9th in game 3 with either Biggio or Taveras. And the playoffs have proved that Lidge is overrated.

Actually, that's the way it was for a long time before baseball decided to pull a hockey and open it up to wildcard teams..used to be pennant winner went to the series..best record over the long haul..that's the way it should be..

it's no longer Comiskey Park, it's "U.S. Cellular Field".

"U.S. Sell-your-soul Field." I call it. Unfortunately, a lot of stadia these days are selling their souls for naming-rights revenue.

Or "U.S. Cell Block Field," in honor of the few cretins like the Ligues who give Sox fans a bad name.

I've been listing to the local news. . . .

I'm listing from not enough sleep.

I'm also listing on this board.

Seriesly, I know what you mean. Compare the national media coverage now to a year ago when the BoSox won.

Go White SOX!!!!!!!!!!! What a series, a nail biter from the start. Astros made it a great game though. Going to treasure this one for a while. The challenge for managament is to keep this team together and do it again next year. Here's to Kenny Williams and Ozzie!!!!

I presume anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together still calls it Comiskey Park.

Unfortuntately, it looks increasingly like they'll have to do it without Theo.

They gave Dye the MVP but really there was no MVP. It was the whole team. It was amazing how many different guys stepped up in the post season. Blum? Harris? Uribe? And don't forget Marte!

You could not get rid of one guy on this team and still be sure they would have won. It was truly a team effort and a credit to the manager and the front office.

Go Sox!!!

Congratulations on the Sox' World Championship. I thought they SHOULD win it, but I didn't expect a sweep.

Glad they didn't fall apart like my Indians did the last 6 games. They brought home the bacon for the American League and the Division, and that's good.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but if a train seems somewhat incongruous for a team named "Astros," it's because when they built the new park the owners seriously considered changing the name. Apparently "Astros" was too dated.

"South Texas Railmen" was the reported winner, and the ballpark reflects that Old West theme. Fortunately (IMHO), ownership came to its senses before actually making the switch.

1917..Wow! We were at war back then too.

Boy , things change, huh? Congratulations!
