Iran leader's words 'sicken' UK

Britain is to summon a top Iranian diplomat to protest against his president's comments about Israel. Hardline Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for the Jewish state to be "wiped off the map".

The Foreign Office will call in Iran's London chargé d'affaires on Thursday. It said the comments were "deeply disturbing and sickening".

The US said they highlighted concerns about Iran's nuclear plans, which Iran says are for peaceful purposes only.

'Horrible reality'

Mr Ahmadinejad made his comments at a conference in the Iranian capital Tehran entitled The World without Zionism.

He said Israel's establishment was "a move by the world oppressor (the West) against the Islamic world".

Referring to Iran's late revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Mr Ahmadinejad said: "As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map."

At least five people were killed and up to 30 wounded in what police say was a suicide bomb attack in Hadera, northern Israel on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad group said it carried out the attack in revenge for Israel's killing of its senior leader, Luay Saadi, on Monday.

Israel reacted by approving a military operation against Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

A Foreign Office spokesman said the Hadera bombing showed "the horrible reality of the violence he [Mahmoud Ahmadinejad] is praising".

Mr Ahmadinejad came to power earlier this year, replacing Mohammad Khatami, a reformist who attempted to improve Iran's relations with the West.

Shut the negotiations with Iran down, impose sanctions, fund the freedom groups in Iran to the hilt, cause instability within the thuggish state, bring down the partner-in-crime Syria to the knees, bomb the hell out of nuclear facilities.

Oh well, it is just my dream.....

Ahh, yes, look at all the outrage.. Wait for it, I'm sure that the Left will be all over this. You know, like they were all over that congresscritter for suggesting that Mecca might be a good coordinate to have on hand for nuclear missiles?

Yup. Any moment now, they'll be expressing outrage.

I mean, yeah, it has to happen, they do have to cater to their Jewish constituents. Yup, any moment now all the Democrat leadership will be screaming bloody murder about such an outrageous statement...

Any moment...

Oh, fine, they won't - they'll spend Sunday explaining how this demonstrates the lack of leadership by the White House in seeking an understanding with Iran, how our lack of diplomatic ties has led to this problem, how if we went in and built them their nuclear infrastructure with our bucks, they'll find the light and come to reason...

Where oh where is the outrage in the arab street? Or the moslem street? Or the good moslems street? Or the moslems who are on our side street? Or the moslems with purple thumbs street? Where is there a fatwa against this Iranian scumbag supporter of terror?

Show me one moslem who passes a fatwa against the Iranian President. Hey, I'm sure there will be one anyday now, after all its a religion of peace.

Or could it be that THEY actually don't consider it a bad idea.

It's time to bomb Iran.

Why are we waiting?

Don't tell me we have to waste almost a year at the corrupt UN like we did for Iraq with no result!

The MSM like to BS that Bush created terrorists in Iraq but the truth is being stuck at the UN gave Saddam all the time he needed to invite terrorists, train them on roadside bombs and stockpile huge weapon caches around the country.

Why are we waiting now???

"Why are we waiting now???"

It may appear there are delays but rest assured an abundance of major preparatory activity is well under way, inside Israel, the Persian Gulf, The Mediterranean, high above the skies of Syria, Iran, Hamas infested Gaza, Hizballah controlled areas of the Lebanon, photographing thousands of selected future terrorist targets, in addition to various kinds of other required preparedness,.

Recall Saddam never knew the hour, day, week or month when either the air war and or ground war would get under way. Neither will the Axis of Shi'ite Evil.

The next substantial phase in the regional war countering Islamic Terrorism Inc will not only involved toppling one terrorist promoting dictatorship (Saddam's former Iraq), but the surgical dismantlement of the financial jihadic infrastructure and their Islamic death cult proxies.

"So we bomb it. Then what ? So the current regime falls. Then what ?"

Would you rather we wait, flounder around indefinitely, doing nothing as our boys continue being murdered because Iran & Syria are allowed to continue flooding Iraq with Islamist serial killers?

Allowing (nuclear)Iran, (WMD)Syria & their terrorist, fanatical proxies to gain even more deadly, advanced weaponry (no thanks to Moscow) and having these madmen trigger the unthinkable, plunging the entire Middle-East into an economically crippling regional war?

have you not learnt what happens when a state falls and nothing replaces it?

Iraq had no 'state appartatus' for just two months after the invasion, yet two years later 150,000 troops are still there fighting an insurgency that shows no signs of abating. Iran is twice the size of Iraq and has three times Iraqs population.

Afhganistan had no state apparatus after 1991 - most would say 1989 - and look what happened there, look at what gets born in states that have no government - of whatever persausion.

do you have a magic hat to pull the vast numbers of troops needed for any Iranian operation from? even if there were to be airstrikes rather than a full iraqi-style invasion, the danger that the iranian state might fall and the potential consequences of that fall would be such that a vast force would have to be on hand just in case.

i've no love for the Iranian regime, but i know - because the CIA, IAEA and the British SIS tell me - that while hugely annoying and unpleasent the Iranians are they are no threat to anyone in the next five to seven years.

terror-exporting? yes.

vile dictatorship using torture and death to keep its people in line? absolutely.

all of the above, but not a serious threat to the vital national interests of either the United States or the United Kingdom. why? because regardless of the rhetoric, Iran has no ability to actually do anything to follow through on its rantings.

The Mohammedan religion generates stupidity, and the higher up the immam the stupider!

150,000 U.S. troops and their blood, and the majority if Iraqis are trying to initiate a stable government for the country and this moron objects. The alternative is degenerative destruction of the whole nation. Idiot!

Pretty soon their stupidity will be on a plane with that of American Senators squabbling over a Supreme Court nominee.

"have you not learnt what happens when a state falls and nothing replaces it?"

Maybe you should learn how to capitalize the beginnings of sentences.

"Iraq had no 'state appartatus' for just two months after the invasion, yet two years later 150,000 troops are still there fighting an insurgency that shows no signs of abating. Iran is twice the size of Iraq and has three times Iraqs population."

(More targets)

Well, well, guess who is fueling the fires of the Iraqi insurgency, Take a wild guess Mac......Iran and their ally in terrorism & preplanned murders, Syria.

"do you have a magic hat to pull the vast numbers of troops needed for any Iranian operation from? even if there were to be airstrikes rather than a full iraqi-style invasion, the danger that the iranian state might fall and the potential consequences of that fall would be such that a vast force would have to be on hand just in case."

Sit back appeaser with a big bowel of popcorn, watch and learn about some military innovations made to order for Iran's oil barons coupled with isolated Assad & company. Oh, where are all those weapons going to come from for Hizballah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas once to two main terrorist benefactors or no longer functioning? Tell me, and everyone else in here.

"all of the above, but not a serious threat to the vital national interests of either the United States or the United Kingdom. why? because regardless of the rhetoric, Iran has no ability to actually do anything to follow through on its rantings."

The murder of one, just one American serviceman caused by Iranian trained jihadic killers infiltrated into Iraq is enough of 'a serious threat to me'.

Iran, #2 OPEC crude oil exporter. Billions in energy related profits transformed in Iran's Army (horde of terrorists) for their so-called 'Expected One' (The Mahdi) for their soon to go-up-in-smoke - Islamic jihadic conquest.

Maybe you are right American and England won't initially deal the devastating blow the 'nuclear' tyrants of Tehran, but it may just come from those Iran is determined to exterminate from the sky, the Jewish people of Israel. Either way Tehran's despotic Mullahs, Assad Ba'athist thugs, Iranian backed Hizballah & Hamas death cultists are all toast, waiting to happen - count on it.

Appeasement always - fails!

The audience for his remarks was not the UK nor was it Israel. It was domestic. They cannot attack Israel, not directly, and everyone knows that. If they acquire nukes they cannot use them against Israel because Israel has a secure second-strike capability.

But Iran has an elaborate terrorist network to use against Israel, a low-cost weapon that has proved very effective. Israel cannot retaliate against Iran directly because the terrorist linkages are nebulous. But Israel has been forced out of Gaza due to the relentless pressure from terrorism. Iran will hope that over the years morale and resolve in Israel will waver. Eventually, Israelis of American or European origin will start to emigrate back the the US or Europe. Already there are Russian Jews returning to Moscow. If this happens, the Muslims will have won because the demographics in Israel will favor the Muslims, who have a high birthrate.

And indeed, in his speech, the Iranian president said there would be a new wave of terrorist attacks against Israel.

At the university I teach at, a Palestinian scholar (politician) visited this month. He gave a talk or two for faculty and students. His primary message was how mean the Israelis are. But he mentioned one telling thing: he and his wife have had 9 children. I thought, well that's why the Gaza refugee camps are so incredibly over-crowded. Evidently large families are being encouraged, as a weapon to use against the Israelis.
