Not sure where you, Oh Phantom come from. Here in Virginia, State GOP has been running the legislature for a long time, raising taxes and diverting funds. Bush's wild spending spree didn't do much to help the GOP's image out here. The GOP still does hold the VA legislature.
Some people, when they mistrust both parties, make 'watchdog' choices. They want one party to check the other and hope that through all the fighting, scrapping, etc. that corruption will be ferreted out. To put it simply, Virginia voters are baffled right now. They can't tell a conservative from a leftist.
I'm a native of Virginia. My entire family still lives there. My husband still votes in the Commonwealth, since we only moved because he is in the military. I don't exactly see how that's any of your business, but you seem to require some sort of credential assuring you that one is sufficiently "Virginian" in order to state one's opinion.
The fact that the VA and national GOP have not been extraordinarily conservative of late does not erase the fact that Kilgore's campaign was abominable.
It's a bit early in the day to already be acting like a condescending fool. Eat some fiber and waste no more of my time.
Um, they've only had complete control of it for 6 years after 120 years of 'Rat control. Start to complain about a long time around 2100.
