If he isn't under contract in 4 more days, we renegotiate. If it looks like someone else wants my house, we drop him.

Yes, toes are getting worn out!

Gonna call it a night now. My eyes are getting scratchy!!

To: Diva Betsy Ross; All

Today was a very special day for Veterans everywhere. Today the commanders from our local American Legion and VFW posts accepted, on behalf of Veterans, an emblem that was created especially for the Veterans. To date, there has never been an "official" emblem for Veterans. Veterans clubs each have their own, but Veterans as a whole do not have one. By these two organizations accepting this moves us closer to making it an "official" Veterans emblem.

This I think is long overdue to many Veterans who deserve this kind of recognition. We decided to forego waiting for Congressional approval, which will take months or years, and make it a part of todays Veterans Day Ceremonies. It was only a local ceremony, but through the VFW and the American Legion we hope this finds its way into other posts across the country. We are also planning on a similar presentation to a Chapter of the VVA in another part of the state, after the first of the year.

We would like to be able to make this same kind of presentation to Veterans through other similar organizations throughor the upcoming year. Anyone who can help, please let me know.

I don't know how to post images here so cannot show you the emblem....any help would be appreciated.

Our thanks to all Veterans everywhere for their service in protecting our freedoms.

I had a great time saying "Thank you!" at our Veterans Day parade. As always, I met nice people there. Two years ago our veterans were out in a cold misting rain. It's the least I can do to be there for them.

THANKS, VETERANS.

The man's name you were looking for is Staff Sgt. Mark Granuke, Jr. Please scroll down half way...

HERE

I know for sure that there was a photo and a thread run here at FR last year either on Veterans Day or right after with this story. I did do a search, but didn't find it. I wanted to posted what I found before I forgot.

I just caught this thread and have to say something as was your predecessor you are remarkable, esteemed.I'm telling you if it was not for you, times could be bleak.Bleak times and other voices from afar never forget the delicious taste and rightful respect. But I must also say I'm planted with my pallid behind at a terminal in the states so cannot appreciate to what I may speak.I know enough though to know it is gritty.I know you/we have lost many.Don't think for a second this Country is going down the tubes or you are not involved in a task which will go down in history. You snipers or sharpshooters there, please know we Love you. It's a grizly job(duh)but you save lives by takin out one sob. There is no right way to explain the admiration I have for you.All of you guys.Let it be known you are not forgotten or 2nd guessed by the hinterlands. You folks have grown up among entirely alien weird ways of performing a craft.I sware to Almighty you have never left our minds or thoughts.Millions of us.So be bold,be brave which is in your nature. One way or another you will return having changed history. My Dad would be proud of you guys and gals over there. He was a Vet WWII,Korea, other places more obscure. Before he was died 2001 he well that's another story.Love you all and not ashamed to say it.
