Mike Borden is the immediate work supervisor of a friend of mine. I have only met him twice, so do not know him well, but my friend and others who know him personally have always spoken very highly of him. He and his wife were devout Christians, and, like many in the south-central Pennsylvania area ('Pensylvania Dutch Country'), they were active in their church and chose to home school their three remaining children.

David was not recently welcome in the Borden home.

We held a special prayer service at our church this evening. Kara's parents no longer need our prayers. They are at home with the Father. But Kara and their other four children do. I ask all FReepers to keep these five children in their daily prayers -- that Kara will be found, safe and unharmed, and that her brother and sister who are still living at home will be especially strengthened and comforted by His love, and the love and support of family and friends.

Admin Moderator, will you please considered allowing this to be listed under breaking news? There is always a chance, no matter how seemingly small, that such visibility could result in the return of this young girl, since such a detailed description of her abductor and the vehicle and license number are now public.

No one can help how they look but if I had to say this girl has a certain "quality" shall we say for 14. None of my five daughters (all very pretty thank-you) ever looked like that. Perhaps I'm reading too much into her "look" but I suspect that there may be more to her disappearance than meets the eye.................................

Police said Kara Beth and Ludwig were dating behind her parents' back. The parents reportedly had asked Ludwig to come to their house Sunday morning so that they could talk to him about his relationship with their daughter.


"We think they're boyfriend and girlfriend," said Lititz Police Chief William Seace. "The young girl was out during the night, came home, and her parents confronted her. From what we understand, he came to the house."

David G. Ludwig killed 14-year-old Kara Beth Borden's parents after they and their daughter argued about her curfew, police said. The girl was last seen Sunday morning at the family's home in Warwick Township, about 60 miles west of Philadelphia.


"We think they're boyfriend and girlfriend," said Seace. "The young girl was out during the night, came home, and her parents confronted her. From what we understand, he came to the house."
