DALLAS — A newlywed police officer was killed early Sunday by a suspect he was chasing on foot, authorities said. Officer Brian Jackson and another officer went to investigate a disturbance complaint and chased a male suspect through alleys and between houses, Police Chief David Kunkle said. During the chase, the man fired at the officers, fatally wounding Jackson, Kunkle said. The suspect, Juan Lizcano, 28, was charged with one count of capital murder and was in police custody. Jackson, 28, was a five-year veteran of the Dallas police force and had previously served with the New York Police Department, Kunkle said. He had been married for just two months. Jackson was the first Dallas officer killed since Oct. 23, 2002, when an off-duty officer died in a traffic accident.

BTW...after he's speech it was deemed by many as a form of amnesty for illegals.
There is data that shows that illegal crossings on the Mexico border greatly increased because of his speech that basically made excuses for illegal behavior.
After suspect was question as to why he shot him, the suspect replied, "because it was easy".

That the hell means that illegal immigrants are far more costly to American society than any "benefits" they provide from their labor.
Murdering cops, stealing cars, raping women, burglarizing houses, using the emergency room, sending their kids who don't know English to public school to hinder the progress of the taxpayers' kids while getting two free meals.....

You need to familiarize yourself with the open borders crowd, ie "They're only performing the jobs Americans refuse to do."
This is a very common sarcastic remark when dealing with illegals.
Still was a stupid thing to say to make a point and could very easily have been misconstued.
Not stupid at all.
Anybody who's been on this site for more than a week should easily know the sarcastic history behind that particular comment.
"Just robbing the homes that American's refuse to rob."
"Just killing the people that American's refuse to kill."
Wether a person chooses to be offended is entirely up to them, but the etymology of the phrase is sound.
