Rice denies being Woodward's source

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice denied being Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward's source on the identity of Valerie Plane.

Woodward acknowledged last week that he knew that Plame -- wife of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson -- was a CIA agent, days before New York Times reporter Judith Miller. I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was forced to resign as Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff when he was indicted on an obstruction of justice charge stemming from a federal investigation into the leak.

Rice, traveling in Asia with President George. W. Bush, issued her denial through a spokesman, the New York Times said. She was responding to a story in the Times that listed her as one of the officials who had made no comment on whether she was Woodward's source.

Our tax dollars are also being wasted......a 2 year investigation and now more investigation! How about using that money for our troops and/or their families.

There are a zillion different ways we could spend this money better, IMO. But the people who think that they have another chance at Rove will disagree, I'm sure.

The funny thing is most Americans don't even know who Bob Woodward is.

I don't know if you've already seen this but I found it interesting,

From the America Thinker website:

Compare and contrast

From the December 30, 2003 letter by Acting Attorney General Corney referring tha matter to Fitzgerald for investigation, we get this description of the Plame matter:

"all the authority of the Attorney General with respect to the Department's investigation into the alleged unauthorized disclosure of a CIA employee's identity" [emphasis added].

From Fitzgerald's most recent filing:

"The charges arose from an investigation concerning alleged leaks to reporters of classified information regarding the employment of  a purported CIA official by one or more government officials." [emphasis added].

Is this a partial admission that the basis of the referral has not been met?

Are we going to have an article on the front page every day of an administration official denying this?

What a laugh. I cannot see why ANYONE would open their mouth in front of that scumbag weasel Woodward.

If they do, they deserve to get hosed in some way by him. It is just what he does.

Yes. This is part of the liberals plan...they have nothing to offer, so they are going to try at least one thing negative a day, every, single day.

I think what they should be looking at is:

What role did Valerie play when he got back from Niger. Was he privy to WMD information via Valerie?? that would effect his view. Did she sit in when they interviewed him?

This chick outed herself on their third date AND HE WAS STILL MARRIED bsides.

I wouldn't trust her as an agent if my life depended on it.

During WWII, I think they called these type of "spies" _______________.

"I believe it was Mark Felt who told Woodward."

Hey, maybe it was Joe Wilson. That would certainly make Woodward reluctant to discuss the matter: their entire liberal fantasy would disolve. This might be fun to watch.

Yours are among many questions I have.

The liberals spent the year of 2002 busy busy trying to protect Saddam, and they were livid with President Bush over their attempt to maintain UNION status in the creation of Homeland Security. 2002 was that big election wherein the Senate was hanging by a thread after that big senator from Vermont suddenly claimed Independence.

This was also the year that Trent Lott forgot who liberals really are and let his tongue get the better of himself.

I think from day one when it became official that algore lost that election, the Clinton administration knew things were about to be unalterable changed, they left the White House kicking and screaming, those pardons seem to give a hint about matters near and dear to them.

Since Wilson had gone to Niger in 1999, he does seem to be the perfect selection and go to guy for this pretend intel gathering mission. However, based upon what we have learned from him the CIA/ and whom ever else that was involved in this pretend mission sure does not appear that Wilson's trip had anything to do with gathering intel more like planting intel.

Now whom ever it was that sent prodded by Rocketfeller the complaint to the FBI, that somebody leaked Val gals name had to be in on this mission. There had to be a specific planning in sending Wilson as a "free" unpaid agent for Wilson to have the freedom to point an accusing finger.

Now Rocketfeller's later leaked memo, which I do not believe he himself wrote, lays out all potential courses of action. While the memo is not dated, the author does seem to date it by using that word majority, although until jumpin Jeffers jumped theoretically speaking the Republicans were in the majority.

There does not seem to be any coincidence that Rocketfeller told a half truth about he himself going and warning Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia in Jan. 2002, (he apparently didn't want anyone to know that he went with some from the State Dept. interesting little bit of information) and then the very next month Joe Wilson goes to Niger, and allll of this is happening a very few months after 9/11.

AND these people say that President Bush misled and manipulated the evidence, HA.

While I have no doubt that Joe Wilson blabbed all over town who his wife is, I do doubt he would voluntarily go to the SP and told him that he was the first to tell Woodward.

Woodward says he learned about Plame in a "casual" manner.

I think Woodward then told others what he had learned about Plame. I think that the reason that Woodward keeps emphasizing the casualness of the spread of the information is that Woodward wants to get himself off the hook.
