The sky is 6,000; the dirt is less than that.

"Humans" have not lived in CA for the past 200,000 years, and we all know this. We do not know this. We only surmise on the base of scant evidence, or rather lack of evidence.

It was intelligent lifeforms from another planet on a camping trip. Who did not clean up after themselves.

Humans who inhabited the Manix Basin chipped tools from chalcedony and chert, rocks that break like glass, to serve as scrapers, choppers, gravers, saws and digging tools. The Calico area was a workshop, and no direct evidence of man, such as bones or teeth, have been found at the site.But... but... I know they were there!

Lack of evidence is an understatement. There is no evidence.

I expect these Calico people were Homo-Erectus.If it pans out, I agree. We know H. erectus were in Northeast Asia. It's not at all implausible they crossed to North America.
In fact, a lot of the ambiguous pre-Clovis finds in America might be explained by a small population of H. erectus.

Heat is livable with plenty of Beer! Went there with the 101st. Snuck onto the main post and bought a couple cases one day.
How we got away with it, I'll never know.

Went to HS (60's) in Barstow and an area that we used to go to park and party was a dirt road near Calico, (Mule Canyon Rd?). Erectus was common on that road as I recall.
