I'm not saying they did something illegal, although assisting a 14 year old in fornication might be regarded as child abuse, but they can live with their actions. Hedonism has consequences.

I had a step-daughter that was a real problem. Every word, act, concept, element of time or effort of persuasion was relative to what she wanted. If you rule out illegal acts, there's no way to control their behavior or to communicate with such an animal, so you just try to protect them from the consequences of THEIR hedonism.

It is possible that the parents were doing just that. I'm not going to judge them, and I doubt that they wanted their daughter to engage in sex. They're faced with a sad loss. Personally, they should just take the loss and stop listening to lawyers.
