Gator Girl, please pardon me for saying this, but your mother-in-law sounds like a fool. What does she want to do, observe your child's death first hand? As a grandmother whose oldest grandchild is a college freshman, I can't even begin to imagine overriding my children's authority. While grandparents expect to be able to spoil their grandchildren in little ways, teaching them disrespect for their parents' rules is despicable. She obviously has a very mean streak--carrying on about how delicious peanut butter is--and I wouldn't leave any child alone with her for a minute. It's obvious this woman cannot be trusted to do what's best for her grandchild. How sad.

A few years ago Monica Crowley had a guest author on her radio program. He had written a book and unfortunately I cannot remember the title--seems to me it was all numbers. It referred to a supposedly hush-hush testing lab somewhere off Long Island which was in disrepair--holes in the roof, leakage around the building where bacteria/microbes, etc. could possibly escape. It was an expose of the danger this facility presented--how many lethal exposures there might have been.

I'm not a conspiracy wacko, but his entire premise was who knows what might have been accidently released into the environment over the years. For example, Lyme disease started in New England; he mentioned new diseases--how about West Nile Virus--I can't think of any others. But it did cause me to think. Guess I'll have to check Monica's web site to see if I can track it down!

In my 20s, I got really sensitive to fungal spores and dust.

Funny how that works: in my 40's I became allergic to fungi known as liberals, lefties, democRATS.

Where do you learn? On the package?

I have to assume there would be instructions on the package, but here is a link to an instruction flyer:

http://www.theallergysite.co.uk/pdfs/EpiPen.jpg

It is a rather large .jpg, or I would have posted it here.

It is a very simple thing to do, and anyone who glances at those instructions would always know how to do it if needed. Most people with severe allergies keep one with them at all times (usually they carry two), so the more people who know how to use them, the better.

She is kind of foolish--I agree. She has a mean streak. Luckily, she's the "step" and had nothing to do with raising my husband!

I don't think she understands the severity of the thing. She also thinks he might have "grown out of it".

My son is not a deprived child in any way. Peanut butter, smeanut butter!

Anyhow, thanks for the comments! ;-)

hey little jeremiah (also to teenyelliot & others),

here is some info i gathered on the net. i found it interesting that a google on 'immunizations' got only 764 results.

i have somewhere in storage, my book list of the hundreds of books read in the 1990s (i seperate by decades to keep the search easier). the next time i go thru my storage, i will get the titles of the books (with a 's') that has the stories about the ill-will of the drug mfg; AND the stories of drs. being put in prison for curing people of cancer, AIDS, diabetes etc. the "official" reason is 'use of non-approved methods/medications'. {i need to put this handwritten list on the pc anyway ^__^}

anyway, here are links and excerpts from the web:

http://www.boston.com/news/globe/magazine/articles/2005/12/04/the_secret_truth/

http://www.sciencedaily.com/upi/index.php?feed=Science&article=UPI-1-20051130-11262300-bc-ageofautism.xml (esp read the 2nd half of story)

here are 2 paragraphs from that story:
1)From the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics in 2000, Effects of diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis or tetanus vaccination on allergies and allergy-related respiratory symptoms among children and adolescents in the United States: "The odds of having a history of asthma was twice as great among vaccinated subjects than among unvaccinated subjects. The odds of having any allergy-related respiratory symptom in the past 12 months was 63 percent greater among vaccinated subjects than unvaccinated subjects."
2)A 1997 article in Immunology Today: "Modern vaccinations, fear of germs and obsession with hygiene are depriving the immune system of information input upon which it is dependent. This fails to maintain the correct cytokine balance and fine-tune T-cell regulation, and may lead to increased incidences of allergies and autoimmune diseases."

here is the original story: (same as above)
www.vaccinationnews.com/DailyNews/March2002/Anaphylaxis&Vaccines.htm.

http://www.hillnews.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/Frontpage/111505/burton.htm.

the report from Rep Dan Burton to congress is VERY interesting, and should be front page news as far as i am concerned. maybe freerepublic can help with that ^_^.

sorry about being so slow to respond.

regards

Sounds like you two would appreciate each other's information. FBD - I think I misplaced the links you sent me about immunizations/vaccinations (is there a difference?). Could you post that info here, maybe? Others may be interested as well, and please ping me.

I've got a lot on my plate right now and I keep losing things.

Thanks!
