ABP had this to say:

If I Were A Conspiracy Kook.....

. . . I would think that the heavy criticism such as this that has recently been leveled at Hillary Clinton from all the corners of the moonbat galaxy was a big plot between her and the kooks to make her seem more "moderate" come 2008. The thought process goes something like this - "I'm perceived as a raging lefty by much of the country, how can I appear more 'mainstream' so I can run in 2008? I know, I'll have Jimmy Breslin, people like Tim Robbins, the Kos Crowd, and Cindy Sheehan all take shots at me for not wanting to pull troops out of Iraq immediately. This way, I can point to all this criticism to blunt charges I'm a part of the left-wing fringe".

If indeed that were the strategy, I must say it wouldn't be a bad one. But I don't think it is. I honestly believe that these kooks - who are the white mice that have taken over the Democrat party laboratory - are genuine in their criticism of Hillary because she refused to endorse their chosen path in Iraq - which is immediate surrender. And they're under the delusion that the rest of the country agrees with them, and if she just adopted their ideas, she'd win big. Look though for Hillary to tack a bit more to the left (or "returning home" as I prefer to call it) as 2008 edges closer, because she'll realize that she won't get the nomination without getting the moonbats on her side.

I also must say that up to this point she's been pretty sharp politically on Iraq. She didn't join the "no blood for oil" crowd in the run-up to the war and kept her distance from the shrill "peace" protestors. And compared to the Reid's and Kerry's of the world, she certainly hasn't been stopping in front of every camera to say "Bush Lied, People Died" because the poll numbers on the Iraq war have fallen. But she's not going to be able to walk that fine line forever if she wants the 2008 Democrat party nomination.

UPDATE:

Actor/activist Tim Robbins, talking to Air America's Marc Maron this a.m.: "Hillary Clinton can kiss my butt. That ridiculous, ridiculous statement she made about the war . . . First of all, for supporting it in the first place, an second of all this sort of equivocate now . . . I mean, it's that terrible strategy the Democratic Party has had that has wound up in lost elections, lost Senate control, lost Congressional control. You gotta have a backbone."

Ummm, she's supposedly making pro-war statements (riding the middle for votes), right? So does this mean he wanted her to be more leftist or that he just can't stand her, period?

(No, I don't want to read the whole piece on Drudge... His pop-ups are massive.)

This is a snow job to make HITLERY look "moderate"!

I don't believe this crap for a second. Robbins would give his left nut, if he had one, to Hitlery (if she needed it) to make her President. So would Alec Baldwin.

"He would still vote for her without reservation if she were to be the Demonic Candidate for President."

That is a very good point. I dont know who I will be voting for in the primaries yet, but I can tell you I will be voting for the Republican Nominee in the General Election no matter who it is. Sometimes I vote Republican to keep the Democrap out. They do the same.

... and all the good little MSM leftists intone "Ooooh ... Hillary is looking so (gasp!) MODERATE. Why, she's even risking the anger of Hollywood celebrities!"

Trouble is, all us yahoos in flyover country aren't buying what they're selling, no matter how many times they shout "new and improved" it's still the same old socialist garbage in, socialist garbage out.
