Frankly, UpChuck Hagel sickens me more than Specter, Chafee, the Maine Gals, the Ohio Boys Cryin' Bitch & DeWine, Warner, or any of the other "moderates" -- even McCain.
Reid is quoting the WaPo story on the 30,000 NSL's issued, which others have said is false, not that that would stop Reid.
Ummm .. I guess Reid didn't get the ok from Dodd to say that
I guess the left didn't mind when Clinton had satellites spy on American citizens after the Oklahoma City bombing.

I hadn't seen that article .. thanks
These comments from the Dems is not a road they really don't want to go down

Reid is for the 3 month extention Bill??
Yeah, so they can come back then and do this same dance....
Yes, but I can't figure out what they are up to.
They don't want to vote against cloture and be seen as against the Patriot Act.
Just another "we don't know what to do" about national security.
Feinstein was up yesterday saying she would vote against Specter's bill .. but would vote for Sununu's 3 month delay bill
IMO .. more time would give the NYT and WP more time to make up stories and bash this patriot Act Bill
Senate started at 9:30. Typically, cloture votes are at least one hour after startup. C-SPAN2 reports that the cloture vote is to occur at 11:00 AM.
Thanks. Well, 43 should've bought himself all kinds of good will after yesterday's little gesture, eh?
Frist had a 1-year extension planned if cloture fails, which puts this debate near the next election. The Democrats don't want to take down the Patriot Act altogether because it tears down the wall that the Democrats already acknowledge as being a problem. But they certainly don't want to be debating the Patriot Act next October.
SO they will support a 3-month extension, putting the political fight into early next year when people won't be paying attention.
I don't want the Democrats to have these powers, should they somehow win the presidency.
The Patriot Act will automatically be de-activated if it isn't re-authorized in a few years. Which I think is great. I support the Patriot Act, but I do think that under the wrong leadership it could be used against American citizens. It's definitely not something you want around forever. Remember, once you empower the government, they never give it back to the people.
Kennedy objecting .. but he's not sure what he is objecting to
Asking about time left and when the vote will be
Oh crap...........Kennedy is up asking about the time before the vote.....
I think he's got a lot to spew today...
Thanks for the ping. :)
I'm conflicted about this part of the bill also
It's a good bill to get the terrorists that want to kill us
But in the hands of a Liberal is a very scary thought
