Our senators suck. There is no need to comment further.

Thank God for Roberts - he has learned to take on the dems - after they wrote memos about how they were leading him around and Roberts was giving them the info they wanted to get Bush. Glad to see Roberts has not forgotten being stabbed in the back.

Jay Rockefeller is not the sharpest tack in the box. His money bought him a safe seat in the Senate so he could position himself for President, but to know him is to discount him. The Rockefeller strain has pretty much gone to seed. As more and more millionaires fill the Senate, it becomes more and more like a House of Lords, full of men with more money than talent.

Mark Levin has this brilliant post up on NRO's The Corner:

THE ROCKEFELLER FILES [Mark R. Levin]

I am curious about something. Jay Rockefeller has released a letter in which he complains about the NSA program on which he'd been briefed. He said the July 17, 2003 letter had been sealed and secured in the offices of the Senate Intelligence Committee. So, he goes to great lengths concealing his views for to voice them might reveal classified information. In his letter he expresses frustration that he can't even consult with staff or counsel, and he can't draw on independent legal or technical expertise. Dianne Feinstein said last night that she has not discussed this matter with Rockefeller because she's not on the Senate Intelligence Committee and it would be inappropriate for her to do so. Fine so far. But if Rockefeller went to such lengths to conceal his views, and if even Feinstein (a fellow senator) insists that she can't discuss this with Rockefeller (presumably, then, Rockefeller can't discuss it with her and other colleagues who weren't briefed), then from where might the New York Times have reported this tidbit in its original story:

"According to those officials and others, reservations about aspects of the program have also been expressed by Senator John D. Rockefeller IV, the West Virginia Democrat who is the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee ..."

I can't imagine this trail would be difficult for leak investigators to follow. Who knew that Rockefeller had reservations? Maybe they should start with, say, Rockefeller?

That's going to leave a Mark!

That's my senator. I doubt that he read it, but I sent him an e-mail yesterday asking the following:

Fight by the side of the President on this issue

Hold the leakers accountable.

THAT"S what I want to see, I want to see the perp walk. I want to see the Delay-like mug shots, and I want to see the seditiuos a-holes get exactly what they deserve.

And I might add, that history shows that FDR and Truman would support this. FDR came down hard on seditious behavior.

"Yesterday, Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), co-chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee (and probable source of many leaks of secret information) released a hand-scrawled letter he had written to VP Cheney two years ago after being briefed on the NSA domestic intel effort."
---
The letter may have been written by Sen. Rockefeller but there is proof that he NEVER delivered it to Vice-President Cheney.
The proof is that it is still in Sen. Rockefeller's possession. The letter should be with Vice-President Cheney.

Mike WALLACE: But I want to ask you directly, Senator, because, you know, you're raising an issue about consultation. Were you ever briefed on it? Did you ever object?

Harry REID: Listen, the program has been in effect. It's been in effect for four years, according to the New York Times. I was briefed a couple of months ago. The program had been in existence a long time prior to that time.

This is something that's the president, the vice president, and there is no way he can pass the buck. The vice president came up to talk to us one day this week. I wonder if they checked that off as one of the times that they consulted with us. There were four members of Congress there. Maybe that counts for four of the 12.

"So, Reid was briefed "a couple of months ago." Seems likely to me that would be exactly 12 months ago, when he became the Senate Minority Leader. And there were four members of Congress there. Could it have been the majority and minority leaders of both houses of Congress? It would be a good place to start guessing. Looks like Reid confirms what the president has said. That leaders in Congress were briefed on the existence of the program."

Can someone find the story about Harry Reid and his sons involved in a land scam back in Searchlight, Nevada? Let's help the country to learn about the 'pious' Mr. Reid.
