They need to import immigrants to perform the abortions the natives won't.

According to the EU Network of Independent Experts on Fundamental Rights doctors should be forced to perform abortions, even if they have conscientious objections...

This will work out great, until they figure out that there are podiatrists, psychiatrists, dermetologists, urologists, etc...

What are they going to do, force a doctor's hand to abort? When, in the concept of liberty, did it become proper to force another autononomous individual to act against their conscience, in the absence of clear and present danger?

This is why my aunt quit the nursing profession 15 years ago. The hospital administration made it a condition of continued employment, that the staff had to sign a paper stating they would assist in abortions.

because the right to abort a child is an “international human right.”

Well, actually, not quite yet, because although hillary worked very hard at the Beijing reproductive rights conference to put this through, the UN leaders and NGOs haven't actually succeeded in doing so, yet.

But if hillary gets herself elected in 2008, it will be one of the first items on her to-do list.

I say we invite those doctors who refuse to kill babies, to immigrate to the USA. We have a shortage of medical professionals here, and since the EUzies don't like them, it seems a good resolution. Let them suffer from lack of medical care at their own hands.

I guess the Euros are still horified that, despite their best efforts, their replacement rate is STILL above 1.0. More abortions are needed to combat this problem. Can't have too many young white people walking around--it might offend all those new Muslim immigrants.

Amazing. I wonder how many doctors will retire so as to not have to perform abortions.

It is time to step up and be counted, the Nazis are back.

Seventy years ago, too many Europeans looked the other way when the Nazis started their campaign of genocide and demonization. Nevertheless, though the media cult might prefer we forgot it, many Catholics and other Christians did in fact accept literal martyrdom rather than collaborate with the Holocaust.

How far are those of today willing to go in resisting this monstrous evil? Today's Nazis don't have gas chambers and concentration camps, at least not yet, so is the loss of a medical practice or perhaps a jail sentence really too great a price to pay, in view of the example set by the truly righteous within living memory?
"Never Again?"
Fill the EU's prisons with objectors if need be, anything else would be a betrayal of those who have gone before.

the right to conscientious objection is not “unlimited.”

"Freedom of choice" but only for the correct "choices."

From TorontoFreePress .... continuation of article.

The Network states that agreements which guarantee Catholic doctors and nurses a right not to be involved in abortions violate EU law. Leftist groups have complained that some new EU members – namely Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia – are so overwhelmingly Catholic that far too few doctors are willing to perform abortions. This makes it hard for women who want an abortion to find a doctor who has no conscientious objection. In such cases, the EU experts say, doctors should be forced to abort:

“Indeed, the right to religious conscientious objection may conflict with other rights, also recognized under international law. In such circumstances, an adequate balance must be struck between these conflicting requirements, which may not lead to one right being sacrificed to another.”

The experts declare that the right to religious conscientious objection “should be regulated in order to ensure that, in circumstances where abortion is legal, no woman shall be deprived from having effective access to the medical service of abortion. In the view of the Network, this implies that the State concerned must ensure, first, that an effective remedy should be open to challenge any refusal to provide abortion; second, that an obligation will be imposed on the health care practitioner exercising his or her right to religious conscientious objection to refer the woman seeking abortion to another qualified health care practitioner who will agree to perform the abortion; third, that another qualified health care practitioner will be indeed available, including in rural areas or in areas which are geographically remote from the centre.”

Recently there was a row about a display in the building of the European Parliament in Brussels of a poster comparing abortion with the holocaust. The poster was part of an exhibition organised by Members of the European Parliament belonging to the League of Polish Families. When leftist MEPs tried to rip the posters down a tussle broke out between MEPs. A group of 500 self-proclaimed “women’s rights and human rights leaders” subsequently wrote a letter to Josep Borrell-Fontelles, the president of the Parliament, to express their “outrage”.

Apart from the right of a woman to an abortion, which according to the EU’s “experts on fundamental rights” overrules the right of medical professionals to conscientious objections, some argue that there is also the right of the unborn child to live. People who think so are looked upon as “rightwing loonies” by self-styled sophisticated secularists. The latter claim that the unborn have no rights at all. The EU experts clearly belong to this group. This explains why, in their search for an “adequate balance to be struck between conflicting requirements, which may not lead to one right being sacrificed to another,” they consider the rights of women and doctors, but do not mention the rights of unborn children. On Christmas Eve this may deserve some contemplation.

Do EU experts wish each other a Merry Christmas?

I wonder if any of those doctors are questioning whether post-natal abortions are possible in certain situations?
