Mrs. Alito is not the nominee, she is his wife. Judge Alito is the one who has to stand the heat, not her. It's unfair to hold her to the standards of the nominee, which she is not.

Second, just purely from a political point of view, I'm glad she did cry. As I stated, this is pure politics: the headlines tonite and the commentary on the talking heads shows will now be the picture of her crying, the comments Sen. Lindsey Graham made, and how rotten the Dems have been during these hearings rather than the tiff between Specter and Kennedy this morning, which would have made the headlines into the organization Alito had allegedly been a member of and whether it was racist or not. So, I'm glad she got upset, as that is now the story, and not what Kennedy said intentionally in order to get headlines about how Alito was somehow a bigot. Bravo, Mrs. Alito. You done good, whether voluntarily or involuntarily.

DANG...what did I say???

I have said nothing against Mrs. Alito...

I did say, a while ago...that the DEMS will try to portray this as a staged event...but I KNOW it isn't!!!

Durban was on right after the break.

He was very reserved in his comments and did not press Alito or badger him.
