Like Paco, he bridges the Flamenco/Jazz categories, though I think it would most likely be listed under Flamenco.

Well if they even carry it. Amazon says it is out of print, but you can listen to some samples there (I used tinyurl because the Amazon one is huge, as usual):

I don't have any of his recent stuff, but some of that available there at least.

Crossroads from Wheels of Fire.

I got the Cream reunion concert on DVR and after 35 years is better than anything I heard for last 30!

>>I LOVE Paco de Luca's "Stella By Starlight" I've been listening to it over and over for at least a week, just entranced.

>>>Sorry don't know that one. If you like Paco de Lucia, another awesome guitarist is Vicente Amigo. His track "El Mandaito" on Vivencias Imaginadas is just sterling.

Sorry, that may be because I got my songs confused-it's played by Joe Pass,John Mclaughlin,Jim Hall, and Al Di Meola. The Paco De Lucia song I've been listening to is his version of Malaguena.

I'll put in a vote for "Machine Gun" on Jimi Hendrix's live Band of Gypsies album. Best (rock) guitar work I've ever heard by a wide margin.

And an honorable mention to Michael Schenker's solo on "Rock Bottom" (on UFO's Strangers in the Night live LP) and Jimmy Page's "Since I've been Loving You" (on Zeppelin III).

Off that same album I like "Trademark" as well.

I saw a training video from the Guitar One magazine. Wow, he is just so fluid it is unbelievable.

Man this thread has me skipping around on my iPod ...

Saw Frank do Muffin Man on two different occasions at Armadillo World Headquarters here in Austin. The second time was the last show at the Dillo. The song on the record called Captain Beefheart was recorded live at the Dillo and it ranks way above the top ten

I thank God the Armadillo was around when I was in college. You never knew who might show up.
