I don't understand why his state would elect him. He is always at the ski slope or some other play place. He is rarely in the Senate.

Me, either.

J F Kerry -- Slacker Extraordinary

Kerry can't take any heat
Thus..he won't park his butt in his seat
In the great US Senate.
He's an absentee tenant.
Bay Staters should vote his defeat.

There is no question Kerry is running in 08. He is an absolute idiot and has no chance of winning the nomination or the presidency. The Dems are dumb but not that dumb.

You forgot one thing; JFK can't run without the financing (read that "permission") if Theresa. She does things for her own reasons and gratification. Do you really think she will finance another Presidential Campaign for this Loser? Maybe she will and then again, maybe she won't.

Gates looks like he had his head shrunk. This picture makes me think of the waiting room scene in "Beetlejuice".

Yup. Did you read this:

MARK SHIELDS: Yeah, the Swiss connection. But I think there is among a lot of Democrats a sense that we've got to make a fight here. We've got to go on record because they're fearful that when this thing does go as they think it is going to go, that Judge Alito joins the conservative majority in the court, and especially on workers' rights cases and discrimination cases that they want to have made the case.

We've.... Either he's got a mouse in his pocket, or Shields is one of them democrats!

I just read the transcript. This is hilarious:

Mark Shields: "John Kerry wants to run again. Mo Udall, the great congressman from Arizona, said the only known cure for the presidential virus is embalming fluid."

A current headline from my favorite Dem site:

Kerry, Kennedy press for filibuster. Many fellow Dem Senators Who Model Their Careers After Jellyfish Abandon Them. 1/27

LOL...sometimes I feel really sorry for these frustrated Dem activists. You can tell they'd be better off forming their own party! (And, if they were Republican activists, they probably would!)

"I'm not afraid of other viewpoints, and I'm not afraid to think."...

This brings something to mind. Until recently, there were few alternative sources of information out there; there were the big three, and PBS, eventually CNN came on the scene. But if you smelled that a part of the story was being spun or held back, digging out the other details was pretty difficult; you learned to have a long memory, remembering the facts that were mentioned last month before they disappeared down the memory hole, you might check several different newspapers looking for that detail that one mentioned that the other didn't.

I used to haunt the out-of-town newspaper stands, I used to read far-left and far-right sources, not for their analysis which was usually lame, but for the details that might be left out of the mainstream account. In other words, at one time, to de-spin the news, you had to have the dedication of a sovietologist and you had to read carefully between the lines. Most of us in the conservative camp have done this our whole lives, reflexively, it comes naturally.

When 89% of journalists are your political opponents, and probably a similar percentage of professors, and TV producers, how does anyone find his way to conservative principles? Conservatives are the ones who, immersed in lib-speak and lib-thought have seen past it.

This is perhaps apropos of nothing, just something that occurred to me. Internet in general, and FR in particular, have been a blessing, making it possible to compare half a dozen versions of a story within minutes, with only a few clicks of the mouse, the digging I used to do, that used to be so difficult, now anyone and everyone does. A story comes out, and in minutes you've got the London, and the Moscow, and the Singapore version of the same story for comparison. Its great.

[ Liberal Mark Shields and conservative columnist David Brooks both joined Lehrer for some Kerry bashing. ]

I can't say on FR the things I have wished on Mark Shields because of his seditions comments that I know, he knows, were LIES.... not to speak the disdain I have for David Brooks for NOT b!tch slapping Shields or even countering the gross obvious lies Shields tells regularly on Lehrer show..

Lehrer knows too, has control, and is complicit.. God forbid my mental images don't come true.. No lifeform should be subjected to them...

(projecting them at you NOW, whoever is reading this)..
Arrgggggh..

NPR is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party. Any remarks by Shields/Lehrer et al should be cleared by the Party leadership before being aired. Shields and Lehrer should either step down or else apologise for abusing their microphone. And then step down. They've shown themselves to be unreliable spokesmen for the Party.

Actually, I kind of understand the liberal outrage. Lehrer and Shields have been ultra-reliable shills for the dems for 30 years. To some on the left, this must seem like a betrayal of the worst kind.

But it reality, this seems to me to be just more intramural rivalry amongst various factions on the left. Yes, Shields and Lehrer are attacking a dem. But the beneficiary will be HRC, not W. So they are still reliably on the plantation.

The moonbats on the street don't realize this is just maneuvering for 2008 and they feel betrayed.

Guess you did not see the Gallup poll where 51% of respondents said they would definitely NOT vote for Hillary in 2008. REALLY bad news when a slanted Left poll like Gallup cannot even find a majority in favor of Hilly.

I saw it and I hope it stays that way. But the first order of business is to get the Democrat nomination, and what I was commenting on is the behavior of the true believers. Last week it was Ted Kennedy's illegitimate child. This week they are turning on Kerry. The Clinton slime machine is turning.

The next step of the strategy will be to split the Republican vote as it was in 92 and 96.

I think the media types are beginning to figure out that they created a monster and that monster is about to turn on them. They have assisted in this crass, crude behavior, they have even encouraged it by giving these people a megaphone. Now they have to live with the results. LOL!
