"I am sorry about what happened, but why does a reporter get 100 times the media coverage of his injuries when we have our brave troops being wounded almost every day, and the media does not go off like this?"

Oh, man, sorry I missed that one! What was their response?

They said that Woodruff was a "big star" and it was news. I also watched the Abrams report on MSNBC and he dealt with this question as well. He was more honest about it.

He told the audience the question "was a very fair one, and you may not like the answer." The answer was that because he was a "media star" the MSM covered his being wounded with the same amount of saturation coverage they give to big stories that affect the entire nation. OK, I can live with his honesty at least.

Only FOX News was more candid, saying that Woodruff is relatively unknown to most of the public. He has only recently filled Peter Jennings anchor position, and moreover, who watches TV network news anymore?

My reaction, and the reaction of scores of people I work with and know, was the same: "Who the heck is Bob Woodruff?"

Prayers to Woodruff's recovery, as well as to our soldiers who are wounded every week, and get almost no attention other than to be used as a statistic for what a failure they are in Iraq.
