My wife would like to see us kick the United Nations out of the United States. I, for one, think its a swell idea. Whats more, Im certain that most New Yorkers feel the same. After all, for the past 58 years, the gang of scofflaws have taken advantage of their diplomatic immunity to be the worst kind of guests. Double-parking is the least of it. Probably the only people who would miss these expense account spongers are the waiters and maitre ds at the more expensive Manhattan eateries.
My own reason for wanting the U.N. padlocked is because I object to corruption and hypocrisy being passed off as high mindedness. I understand that Kofi Annan, which sounds like a 12-step program for caffeine addicts, collected a nice piece of change out of Iraqs phony oil-for-food program. But my problem with the organization is more basic than that, although it does explain how it is that Mr. Annan seems to have a more extensive, more expensive, wardrobe than Donald Trump. Continues...

,,, New Zealand's Helen Klark has a suitcase packed and waiting for when her number is called to sit in the perfumed halls of the UN. She knows all about expense account creative accounting. It takes a certain type to settle in at the UN and she's a text book example. The UN is cancer within society and it's all funded by taxpayers.

I really dont like the UN myself. I think they are ran by communists that are as corrupt as any other countries politicians. With that said, I dont believe the UN can be abolished by the USA, without harming our credibility.
To: JohnHuang2
what's the matter with paying excessively high salaries for UN employees and officials. It's not as if they have accomplished much in trying to solve the problems of the world. We had to do prop them up ourselves!

Time for the city to look the other way when car thieves go after the scofflaws cars.

I would start by going to your local units of government, and demand that they pass a "UN Free Zone" making it a 90 day jail sentence, and a $500 dollar fine for UN personnel to enter or work in every County in NY. Second offense would be deportation, after he/she served their 1 year in jail and paid their 100,000 dollar fine.
If every State in the United States did that, then the Fed Government would no other choice but, kick the UN out of the United States of America, because it would effectively be unlawful for the UN to be anywhere in the United States of America.
Great Post!

Palau is an island in the Pacific north of New Guinea, east of the Philippines. It was one of the invaded by the US during World War 2.

No but there is no need for us to waste time and money being a member of such a useless organization.

If anyone feels the absolute need for America to belong to a fraternal organization, I would suggest something smaller and a tad more selective, something like the Elks or a summer bowling league. I vote for the summer Bowling legue. They really are a lot of fun!

"harming our credibility"
What about the credibility of the UN to begin with? The United States would have MORE credibility if they would be a leader again, and lead the rest of the Nations out of the most corrupt, mismanaged, ill-advised, despot, racket in the entire world!
The United States would gain credibility, not lose it. We lose our credibility when we as a Nation sit back and watch the UN point their dirty little fingers in the face of the US and tell us to shut down git-mo. while UN peace keepers are raping and murdering innocent civilians in Nations all over the world! All this and more while the UN stands there with their hands out sucking up our tax dollars, and telling the US to go to hell, and then demanding that the US pay more taxes to the world, since we are the richest in the world. The UN tells other Nations of the world, that, the US got rich off the backs of them, and left them poor. "HARM OUR CEDIBILITY?" I think NOT!

With that said, I dont believe the UN can be abolished by the USA, without harming our credibility. On the contrary, I believe expelling the UN would serve to restore our credibility.

"It was one of the invaded by the US during World War 2."
Try: "It was one of the liberated by the US during World War 2."
The island, along with every other liberated island during WWII, was returned to people of that island, after the US defeated the Japanese who had attacked and captured it.
"Invaded," sound like the US attacked a sovereign Nation.
