"Viewers, or at least a large majority of them, tune in week after week because they feel a connection to the hosts," Phillips said. "A lot of times it boils down to whether people like you or not in the TV business. I've been fortunate that people think I'm a likeable guy."

LOL
His task was to dispel the phoney stuff. I thought he did that quite well ~ since the preacher at the megachurch did not volunteer it!
A few years back I had to explain that to a liberal friend of mine .. seems he never thought of it that way
Then I proceeded to put him in further shock when I explained to him that he doesn't really earn a paycheck for himself till May ... because his money earned prior to that when to pay for taxes
Tiki is a lot easier on the eyes also! ;-)
"someone who always thought he knew more about everything than anyone else."
This pretty much describes my mother-in-law.
I understand, though I mentioned his statement today not so much for the religious angle but because it displayed Julian's arrogance. Could have been the same thing if he had tried to instruct a cardiologist on the nature of Mr. Whittington's injury. Still, I will take your suggestion into account.
Julian can amazingly run his mouth whether his brain is engaged or not.
Tiki Barber could replace Julian with ease. He is a 100 times smarter and more articulate.
I don't agree with the context Julian used it in. Julian made it sound as if you make yourself perfect and then become saved. Julian makes no referece to accepting Christ as your savior. That is the most important thing.
... and he wears DRIVING GLOVES.
'nuff said. ;-D

Maybe Juliet Huddy. Can't recall exactly, but I do remember it was a GIRL. 'Nuf said.
C'mon, lighten up on Julian.
He can be a little quirky, but he seems to be a wholesome, righteous person who adds positively to the fabric of American life.
Besides, his comments about what should be the nature of Christianity were not that far off the mark.
It makes people (including me) feel somewhat queezy when ministers (like this one from Indiana) start thinking they are sex counselors.
Bingo!!
Bingo also!
No one with a brain would dispute the fact that Ted Turner is very left wing liberal. So when Ted chose a conservative to represent the right on CNN's "Cross Fire" show he chose Pat Buchanan. Does anyone really think Pat was chosen because he is an effective advocate of the Conservative cause? Or was he chosen because Ted Turner believed Pat to be an ineffective buffoon who would make few if any converts?
When Roger Ailes chose those to represent the left on Fox he chose such people as Alan Combs and Julian.
If Fox wanted to promote Liberalism, it would have chosen an articulate and attractive spokesperson for liberalism. Instead he chose ineffective liberals.
I often wonder if Pat, Alan, or Julian have even a tiny clue as to why they were chosen.
I agree that someone doesn't have to agree with us 100% ..
Oh heck just read FR and you can see we all don't agree on issues
But Julian is a liberal .. he is also the type of liberal that will go out of his way to make excuses for the Loony Left
With that said .. I don't want my church teaching me how to have a good sex life ..
I sure do. Though, I guess it's possible that he's not, rather, that he's just a blithering idiot. I try to give him more credit than that.
