Julian Phillips Instructs Christian Minister on . . . Christianity
Fox & Friends Weekend | governsleastgovernsbest

Posted on 02/19/2006 4:57:05 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Regular viewers of Fox & Friends Weekend know that co-host Julian Phillips has a penchant for parading his Christianity. Now, as a Jew, I want to walk gingerly and respectfully here. I believe there is a Christian obligation to profess one's faith, and I certainly respect that. Even so, I can't help but feel that there might possibly be something a bit ostentatious in Phillips' manner of fulfilling that duty.

In any case, Phillips took things an odd step further this morning when he essentially took it on himself to instruct a Christian minister on Christianity.

The subject matter was a church in Michiana, Indiana that has been running provocative billboards showing a couple's feet sticking out of the end of a bed and encouraging people to go to mylamesexlife.com. The idea is to invite them to the church to learn about God's plans for married people to have a good sex life [with their spouses of course ;-) ]

The Fox panel interviewed the pastor of the church, Mark Beeson. At the end of the interview, Pastor Beeson repeated his message that there is a God that cares and that there's hope and there's help for everybody [including in the area of marital sex].

That's when Phillips felt the need to remind the minister as to what was more important:

"We thank you for that BUT we also know the most important thing for a Christian is to conform to the image of Jesus Christ and become saved."

Perhaps realizing his impudence, Phillips added: "I know you know that," but then continued "OK, I'm sure you did, I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE WE WERE CLEAR ON THAT, PASTOR."

Perhaps Phillips would be doing us all a favor if he gave up his gig at Fox and became a full-time man of the cloth.

I think what Julian was trying to say, as a professing Christian we are to be Christ like. The Bible will back this up , that is, if you believe in the Holy Bible. I respect Julian for his faith, he is doing more than a lot of Christians I know by showing his belief. This is all that I will agree on with him. Julian in almost all cases leans to the liberal left on most issues political.

"..I often wonder if Pat, Alan, or Julian have even a tiny clue as to why they were chosen."

Shhhhhh!!!! (But let's not forget Juan Williams, either.) :)

You're also entitled to like Michael Moore. He and Phillips are of the same ilk, except, if possible, Phillips is even more pompous.

So after reading those links, you now see that Julian IS a liberal? Yes?

You can still choose to like him all you want, just acknowledge the reality of his political beliefs, for sake of your own credibility.

If you think you can compare Julian Phillips with Michael Moore, then I can't take you seriously.

When it comes to opinions, I don't worry about my credibility. If I were stating facts, then I would worry. But then I liked Peter Jennings, too, at least compared to some of the other MSM anchors.

Of course, I like seeing any blacks become successful because they can be great role models and young blacks can use all the good role models they can get these days.

Agreed. But one would think that for young black conservatives, some better role models might be Herman Cain or Walter Williams or Ken Blackwell or even Condi Rice or Colin Powell...etc.

Sure I can. I've seen them both in action. A) they both lie, B) they both think they are something special. So I guess I can't take YOU seriously.

You just blasted LS for his/her (?) opinion comparing Michael Moore to Julian. So, opinions do count towards credibility, according to you.

I would hardly call that blasting. Do you think Michael Moore and Julian Phillips is a valid comparison?

I have no idea if he is a liberal or not. I will try to email him and ask and let you know.

I have no idea if he is a liberal or not.

Then, as I suggested in a friendly manner to you earlier, your credibility is questionable on this topic. Plenty of proof has been presented, per your request.

..perhaps the goal of being fair and balanced is fulfilled by including the liberal "professors" like Phillips and Williams on the network...

..in my ideal world, I would like to send them to CNN and replace them with Herman Cain, Star Parker, or Ken Hamblin...

I just emailed Julian to ask him. If I get a response, I'll let you know.

Actually that was the smartest thing to ever leave his lips. He was most likely uncomfortable with the subject that was going to be taught from the pulpit in such a direct manner. Many Christian churches are addressing the divorce problem w/in the church. But yes, Salvation is the one message.

Always curious why Jews don't believe Jesus was the Messiah? He fulfilled over 300 prophesies in the Old Testament.

Shalom

Thanks. Most liberals will not admit to it...calling themselves 'moderates' or 'centrists'.

You could tell your liberal friend or Julian to move to Canada. Lottery winnings there are untaxed. Everything else is taxed up the wazoo but they have left those alone. Even a Canadian winning a US lottery would probably gather the full amount due to tax treaties between the 2 nations.
