The President and the people around him have no, none, nada illusions that Islam is a religion of peace. They probably know even more than we do what evils the fanatics are perpetrating and what they have in store.

By saying that Islam is a "religion of peace" long ago, President Bush co-opted a slew of problems both abroad and here at home. Don't think there's not enough radical Muslims in this country, including the Black Muslim followers of Calypso Louie, to stage riots, window smashings and car burnings if they were called what they really are by our most prominent leaders.

One can find a lot of fault with the President, but this is not one of them. Remember he's a pretty good master of strategery in the WOT. Calling this phony "religion" (it's a cult) what it is definitely NOT is part of GWB's poker game.
