If you call a terrorist death cult a religion, it does indeed.

The First Amendment prohibits this.

Not a problem. We already have a precendent in the U.S.

In 1836 Missouri's govenor issued an extermination order against all Mormons in Missouri, based on nothing more than lies and innuendo.

The federal government at the time said nothing about this order being unconstitutional. To the contrary, the federal government was complicit and a willing participant in the actions against the Mormons.

Several years later when the Mormons were in the Utah terrirtory they sent an army to "keep an eye" on them.

Why can't we now do at least the same to a "religious" group that has a proven track record of violence and terrorism?

That's only if we consider Islam to be primarily a religion, which is debatable. I consider it to be primarily a military organization.

The First Amendment prohibits this.

Yes it does. Even if one believes Islam to be a death cult (as I do), maybe even pure evil (I'm wavering), one still has the right to BE evil. One cannot DO evil. Just as I have the right to BE atheist (which some on FR find as evil as Islam), as long as I do not FORCE others to follow my thinking.

I see this as more of a Second Amendment issue. Why were the rioting Muslims in Europe and Asia allowed to destroy so much property (even take a handful of innocent lives)? We don't need to ban Islam itself. We DO need to make clear to all Muslims that 1) we see through their one-sided intellectual bulls**t, 2) the West values freedom over submission, 3) we are a well-armed populace willing to defend that freedom...

...and 4) back that up, IF necessary.

It does not. Is it legal to promote Satanism and human sacrifice ? Voodoo practices ?

Any moslem, cleric or otherwise, who preaches death and destruction, or who funnels money to terrorist organizations, needs to be brought up on RICO charges.

Forget the religious aspect.

Get these fanatics the way the mob was prosecuted.

The first amendment doesn't prevent the government from protecting the constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic however, does it?

If a killer decided he was the leader of a new religion and killing was required to enter into the priesthood of this religion would this "religion" be protected? Or, does his religion have to be "old" and have many followers but the killer just has better knowledge of what his god wished from the followers, and then we must protect his speech and his practices?

An enemy of our Constitution is an enemy and that enemy is required to be eradicated, by oath of office, period.

not necessarily.

There is a legal school of thought that states you can not used the first amendment to eliminate the first amendment.

You can not use the freedoms of the nation to overthrow the nation.

Consider how a US visa application SPECIFICALLY asks if the applicant has EVER belonged to an organization which advocated the overthrow of the united states. An applicant can be denied a visa for advocating the overthrow of the US government. That is 100% in contrary to first amendment absolutists.

ISLAM advocates the overthrow of the USA's government an replacing it with a theocracy without the bill of rights or constitution. Just tribal mullahs dictating thought to a level 8 centuries ago.

Islam has by its own nature and scripture abdicated any first amendment rights.

Islam is a criminal organization, they even recruit in prisons...

The RICO Act should be applied, their assets and property seized just like other racist and violent nut-job groups...
The First Amendment does not give you the right to commit ritual murder... even if you are from the Cthulu cult...

Then we need another amendment to make an exception for Islam.

The First Amendment prohibits this.

Wrong. We allow no other religion to survive that infringes on that basic human right....Life.

The First Amendment does not apply to those religions that kill in the name of that religion and this religion teaches killing and enslavement. The First Amendment does not mean we can not protect ourselves from killers and those who want to take away our freedoms just because they label themselves a religion. We have made that distinction throughout our history.

It is sort of hard to have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness when you next door neighbor is plotting with his fellows at the local mosque to slit our throats, or to kill our kids at the local school so that we do not have a next generation.

It is the governments job to protect us from outside and inside enemies, forces that wish to take away our freedoms. The only way to accomplish this, with the threat we are now under, is to get rid of it at the source...the teachings....the koran. Islam must go.

"The First Amendment prohibits this."

The first amendment does not protect terrorist organizations and enemies that are trying to take over the US.

The KKK was a violent religious organization which was banned, first amendment or no.

Won't some of you closet liberals please tell me what is the difference between Islam (both the terrorists and those who support them, tacitly or otherwise) and the KKK? The comnplicit who remain silent are just as guilty as the perpetrators.

The islamoterrorists advocate and practice the slaughter of "infidels".

The KKK advocated and practiced the slaughter of African-Americans.

The difference please?

Intolerance and hatred was a deep concern of our founders.

I grow concerned when I see much of it on this site.

While discussions about the religion's merit are interesting, then they degrade to condemnation, judgements and bans, we play a dangerous game and flirt with the darkest parts of human history.
