I swear they are all coming to Texas. Everyone is coming to Texas. Suburbs of Dallas especially. A majority in my neighborhood of Frisco are New Yorkers or Californians. THey are shocked that we pledge to the Texas Flag. They are also shocked we have malls and grocery stores, ha.
They aren't all going to Dallas. I think most of California now shops at an HEB here in Williamson CO.
This is funny, that is, the idea that they are surprised you have malls and grocery stores, etc.. I know many people in the main stream media think that anywhere between NY and CA is flyover country. They expect that wild Indians still roam around Minnesota with bows and arrows! Often the morning news programs on the MSM give weather temps for Chicago, and then nothing else westward until Seattle (along the northern tier of states). It is probably the same for the southern part. Mostly the east coast and the pacific coast gets covered.
I'm one of 'em...I love this state. I love seeing the Lone Star Flag flying with pride everywhere I look -- I met no one, and I mean no one, that actually owned a CA Bear Flag and I lived in CA for over 40 years.
My wife and kids just went back for a quick visit to SoCal and my kids were asking their mother "what is that smell?" And commenting on how dirty and ugly so much of it was. I think a good thing, actually that they are seeing what we fled from a year after shedding tears for leaving LA...
Given New Yorker's and Californistanner's attitudes about everything outside of their areas, they're probably shocked that you have indoor plumbing and aren't marrying your siblings.
A surprising number of paved roads, too.
I do everything possible to keep 'em from stopping in NM.
All those folks leaving Kalifornia to move to fly-over states are really Okies getting smart and returning to their roots!
THey are shocked that we pledge to the Texas Flag.
Really?? That's very cool, we still have to fight to get the CA schools to say the Pledge of Allegiance or have an American Flag in the classroom!!
Can't wait to convince my wife to move to Tesxas...
