Somebody else just suggested the studio version is much better. Add the visual MTV-like memory association and that's why it probably won.
I"used" to like Spielberg -- before he revealed his friendship for Castro and just how left wing he really is.
I also liked it when the two guys that won for "Wallace and Gromit" put little bow ties on the statues that matched the funny looking ones they were wearing.
That it won means there is absolutely nothing left of the Academy Awards. Of course the other two weren't that good, but 'It's Hard Out Here Being A Pimp' is now going to be in the records for all time. They should be so proud of themselves....
I feel for the Freeper ladies watching tonight, most don't even get to enjoy the vicarious thrill of the mammary moments.
Yeah, there's not much for us except to pan the dresses and make up...........no real studs anymore...sigh
Tomorrow all the kids who got to stay up late will be humming the pimp song at the bus stop.

When I started to type it - I was thinking about all of the talented people who had won Oscars in the past - but when you start giving them to people like eminem and those yelping idiots that just won - well, now it's become a comedy.

Matt Dillon SHOULD have won.
A little disclaimer, with songs like "Its Hard Out Here for a Pimp" it is obviously not a family friendly movie, but I liked it much more than 8 Mile even though it covers much the same ground.
I can't believe that "The Sausage Song" from Freddy Got Fingered wasn't even nominated!
